Unless Utopia have become electrostatic they can only try and compete but not really. L300 Limited just got reviewed. So good. Slightly wider than L700 with the same driver.

Going Open-back to open back the LCD2C's are just bigger sounding. More open. Less detail oriented. But you get more from the LCD2C if you are into relaxed sound. These are very precise.

Aeon C Mids are the weakest part in sound , other than that they are ammmmmmazing headphones.

as somebody who is a bit too stupid with his money, I'm viewing each of these from the SERIOUS GAMING perspective...could you just throw a small omg-this-is-stupid-when-it-comes-to-the-footsteps gaming bit in there? Like you did with the 660s, thought that was pretty dope.

After watching this video along with the full open sound demo and most of the closed sound demo, I would gravitate towards the closed backs because of slightly better detail of the music. I am using my iPad with an ADVANCED Accesport, hooked up to my Little Bear P2, driving my Beyerdynamic DT 240 Pro headphones.

I have the open ones as replacing my M1060 and M560 and I love them, really worth the price. I use it without any dampening. But, I have one question to you Z, what would be the best DAC/AMP to run those? I am updating my desktop setup now and would like some help after you reviewed it.

Z, great review. You are a terrific headphone reviewer and I feel that the information you provided in this Aeon review cuts to the chase and is more valuable then any Aeon review i've yet read, even from the standpoint of audiophilenesseses. I've been debating the purchase of these headphones ever since they came out. Instead, I've purchased a ton of other slightly lower priced headphones because, despite reading multiple reviews on them, I keep having trouble pulling the trigger on $800 headphones without hearing them or getting what I feel is a good idea about what to expect with them. Plus, its hard to find them used for under $700 and at that point why not go new. However, now, after your review, I'm ready to get the closed backs. I'm always going to gravitate towards closed backs anyway, all other things fairly equal, because I go portable so often (Good think I have the IFI Micro BL to pump 4w into them), but now I can be confident about my purchase. So, iow, thanks man.

I own the MrSpeakers Aeon Closed. I totally agree with Zeos on this one! They sound like the vocals are cutting through and with shitty tracks they reveal shitty tracks. I run the Aeons on the Questyle CMA400i recommended amp by Z and they are a great pairing for me.
