Yes but Getting near maximum the higher power unit should show itself. These played pretty close right to the limits.

Thanks. Simpler than I thought. It will be nice to have the littledot1 and a magni 3 to choose from.

You would probably just want a 3.5mm splitter http://amzn.to/2AiJx1l and plug both in simultaneously as neither one needs a pre-amp to the other, they are both self sufficient amps. So get that splitter and another 3.5mm to RCA.

Zeos I'm using littledot 1+ (russian tubes and burson opamp) with my HD 6xx and using a dragonfly black as the DAC. If I wanted to change between the magni 3 and the littledot would I do that using the pre out on the magni, or use another switching devise after my DAC? Oh the little dot with voskhod tubes and the burs0n opamp sound great.

Thanks for the reply. I've had my eyes on the 50s for some time now but I don't think my m40s have enough low end even with the cowhide pads so I may go for the 20s.

More bass. More soundstage. T50 are still bae but not enough fun cans in my life.. IE T20's with 8 watts into each side.

Yep, that settles it. I'm ordering a 3 and it can fight it out with my 2U to decide which one lives in my house and which lives in my cubicle.

Yeah..... More relaxed, less mid bass pressure. Like you are suppose to chill.

It seems like you're really feeling those t20s lately. As someone who is looking into getting t50s as their next pair, would you say that the 20s are a better set of cans? Sidenote: I also have the 2 uber, so if they don't sound great on a schiit stack, I may get something else all together.

Does "lighter sound" mean thinner and weaker or just cleaner and less "stuffy"? The 2U definitely has a quality I would call stuffy when compared to my FiiO X5iii which I would describe as very clean but not thin or weak.

Headphones are boys. They're techy, they game, they get high with you, they listen to the same music you do... This is easy. They're boys.

The Emotiva A-100 in direct drive mode pushing 50 watts into 8ohm is the same as 8 watts into 50ohm.

I use the Magni 2 with a speaker amp, is there something wrong with doing it this way? I just set the speaker amp knob to a certain volume and leave it there, then only need to screw with the magni knob for volume on either headphones or speakers. Hope I am not screwing something by doing this.

The taper on the volume pots is different, that's why the volume knob position is different despite the higher power of the Magni 3. They did this to allow better low volume control for sensitive headphones. On a related note, I know you may listen at loud volumes, but is anyone else bothered by the XTREEM POWAR trend? I often listen at low volumes, and this high power trend makes getting fine control at low volumes harder.
