So here is the story of why they stopped making the X1.. The wanted to make the pads removable and make the headband bigger and make a different non 1/4" wire that has less impedance.. So they made the X2. Then they started gluing the pads again on the X2 and the headband is fine for normal head sized people. The end.

I thought you said the shp-9500 were better than the 600, so why not just travel with those?

And you made me take off my Stax for 10 whole minutes to listen to this review on my X2's :p I fully expect my TH-X00 Purplehearts to take X2's place as my favorite bass-heavy cans when I finally get them, though at more or less double the price.
