Z Review - Fostex T50rp MkIII

What can I say, Color me impressed. These things are built like tanks, sound amazing and just need slight comfort and usability mods to be really great. And I mean REALLY great.

Z Review - Fostex T50rp MkIII

Do the Shure 1540 pads crush against your head a bit more than the Brainwavz Hybrids? The Shure pads are on backorder, so I got the Hybrids in the meantime. I'm not using the toilet paper thing, and I find there's a bit of a muffled nature to the sound. Just me?

Are you going to try the T40RP Mk3?

Can't see the roll off being the case by default. These are not bass-lite cans with stock pads.

I read on InnerFidelity that the Mk3's rolls off significantly below 100Hz. Will using the 1540 pads help prevent this or is this something only modding the cups fix? I mainly listen to EDM. I have the Mad Dog Pro, DT880 600 ohm and X2 currently. I love the sound from them.

SD793 probably be the most powerful dac/amp combo. A sAp 3 or K5 are good enough for straight amps.

Amazon reviews say best headphones under $500, but here's the catch, with the other $300 you'll need a small nuclear power plant to listen to them. With that being said, is there an amp under $100 that'll power these?

Mine came on Saturday. I purchased the Fostex HP-A4 in advance hoping on bent knee that it would power these bad boys. It did. Barely. Volume knob at 3 o'clock on high gain.

Already ordered. Delivery expected in next few days. Can't wait to try em out!!!
