From the Desk of Dr Toni Lodge #043

Hellooooo happy Wednesday! I’m going to very quickly interrupt the A, Blog, C’s to talk further about the Lizzo concert because it was just so wonderful that it feels like a missed opportunity to not talk about it!

I CAN NOT BELIEVE I didn’t really consider myself a big fan of Lizzo before this week. I always liked her and enjoyed the hits but OH MY GOD this show was like HIT AFTER HIT AFTER HIT!

She also had some technical fuckups where her all of her lights went off for like three songs, and one of the songs was Truth Hurts - so when the lights came back on she did Truth Hurts again with the lights up. It was so amazing. She also spent heaps of time taking selfies and signing stuff between songs and shouting out to the crowd. It was just really awesome to see someone who was just so genuinely themself and so down to Earth. She also shared the stage with her band and dancers and gave every single person their moment.

I think, like most people, the inclusive vibe of Lizzo and everything she stands for makes it even easier to love her at a base level. But I walked away from her concert feeling so empowered, excited, and like I could tackle anything. I also was so proud of going and doing something that was fun and just for me! I can’t believe I went without feeling guilty for doing something that was purely for enjoyment. I really struggle taking time out for myself. I struggle even more doing things that are JUST FUN. I feel so so guilty for doing something that costs money or for relaxing because I feel lazy.

So I went to the concert - had a great fucking time! And today I’m working from the couch while I’m all rugged up because I don’t feel very well and I am not going to feel bad about it!

Just wanted to share my newest lust for life - and can’t believe I got it all from Lizzo. LISTEN TO HER TODAY IF YOU NEED A YEAH BITCH MOMENT!
