Doing this stuff is almost like fixing an old puzzle you already tried to solve once. Like, I AM that puzzle, and at least with the second attempt I can start making sense. This might sound rough - and I actually know that the old version of those panels looks nice, too - but it's not me anymore? Kinda?
For the first time in many years, my style feels solid and consistent for myself, even though I'm still jumping around a lot (just you wait for a few of future Chernobyl strips, haha!) - I feel comfortable drawing anything in this style. Finally I'm not trying to be some sort of extraordinaire chameleon only so that later I could hate my own attempts to mimic someone I'm not.
