2024-04-12 07:28:14 +0000 UTCI could imagine a world where I am a brain in a vat currently on a space rocket for 5 minutes with full confidence that permeates the ordinary actual world (so I have read accounts of tests done in hospital by the researcher Rick Strassman, M.D. account in DMT spirit molecule where he injected the drug at amounts set by ethics board). If I met my brain in a vat where I discussed my predicament with the entities doing the experiment and usurped me around the anvatted brain which was pointed out to be me as I also observed and then had a conjoined lived experience of being on the space rocket too then returned and gave the account to the earthly experimenter then all accounts seem to align as sound and valid. Given this DMT is a molecule naturally in the brain it is arguably putting me in a close possible world of a variety similar to the missed meteorite phenomenon give its 5min interval in both cases are identical. Participate felt this to be their lived experience since they were in a hospital bed looking up out the window as the needle went in. There were 50 or so variable volunteers who gave these sort of bizarre accounts and professed full knowledge similar to me staring at my computer. So if I had this experience all things being equal I could claim without a doubt I am a brain in a vat currently on as space rocket. The DMT is stimulating the brain to give the externalist experience which for persons find that there once the effect took over they had an externalist account identical to externalist platitudes of their normative lived experience. Dreams are closest but the experience apparently is vivid to the extent they claim not to be distinguished from normative sense experience all round including touch. So seeing the brain in a vat for example and being shown screens etcetera. If such modes of knowing are valid which they seem to be then the third conditions holds for a cohort of observers that claim to be manipulated by entities with variable intensions unfathomable to the observers of the DMT volunteers as Strassman notes in his assessment. The argument being that abdominal conjunctions can be negotiated by these 5minute transportations to an alternative externalist account that maps onto my every day platitudes of lived experience. This might be an account of why humans in both old and new world used hallucinogens to as it were break the abdominal conjunction that logicians can explain with clarity but folk logic also senses viscerally and so attempts to solve these plethora of niggling counter possibles that plague the imagination of a cohort in a population of normals. If p were not true s would not believe it.
