Added 2022-02-21 12:50:09 +0000 UTCHere the artist playfully uses the visual cues of damaged attire to highlight both the physical injury (or loss of 'hit points') sustained by the subject and to explore the diminishment of power intrinsic both within the martial defeat of a hero or villain of literature and the loss of clothing and therefore dignity. These three factors (the loss of power, the loss of dignity and the martial vanquishment of the subject) thus form a trinity of visual metaphor and indeed meta-commentary upon the disposable nature of the consumerist society.
