YOOOO it's finally here, friends!!!!! Let me just preface this video with saying that we had a CRAZY amount of technical difficulties. Despite all sorts of tips and articles sent in by you all, Viki stopped letting me record on their site, so not only did I have a very laggy original recording (I apologize if our frustration shows in this ep), but I also ended up having to record the episode separately after we reacted and edit it in over the original. This episode took us 3 hours to film, me about 7 hours to edit and another 6 to export it and 4 to upload LOL.
SO it is a huge relief to finally have this finished and I have made sure to come up with a better process for the next eps.
As a reminder, the "inconsistent posting" option won the poll I put out last week, so these episodes will, yes, probably be inconsistent in their release! I'm really trying for two a month but with the holidays and my sister's crazy work schedule we've only been able to watch two in the last month and a half. So they will always be in the making, but if you're looking to subscribe and binge them all, I would wait until they're all out lol. That being said, we very much appreciate your support in the meantime!
We had a lot of fun delving into the new groups and like actually just seeing how many different styles of K-pop there are. And all the other groups are so cute 😭 We definitely had some opinions about the final ranking results though...haha watch to find out!!! I hope you enjoy this long-awaited debut! 💙

Also, about k-pop groups being more popular outside of Korea, there is not a specific reason and sometimes there really is no reason, it just happens that way. However, with Ateez most of us think they gained popularity internationally first was because the first content they ever released even before their actual debut, was a series of hip hop dance performance videos. They are also just known to tour LITERALLY all over the world, which I'm sure helps with it!

It's easier to get into the ones with fewer members because I can start to get a feel for individual personalities and such but I'm hoping by the end I will get to know them all well! 💕 And thank you for that! And with all of the Korean honorifics and respect/“hierarchy” is super helpful knowledge to have going forward as well! Thankfully we figured out by episode 2 (already filmed, waiting to edit), that it wasn’t an elimination show, but the vagueness was killing us when we found out Ikon was 6th!!! haha thank you for confirming though. and I always want to watch other groups reactions! (For the sam reason I watch so many other YT reacts haha). Unfortunately our internet was jut being dumber the one performance. I love seeing them all support each other and cheer each other on and they’re all just so sweet and humble and I love it. It reminds me of the first time I watch the Great British Baking Show (compared to all other American competition shows with are CUT -THROAT), I was like, what is his happy music!? Way are they being so nice to one another!? 😂 I’m too happy they are all actual friends I can’t wait for more interactive moments (esp the Wooyoung and Changbin- they are adorable!) I agree with you 100% on fan wars like that’s just absolutely ridiculous. The reality is it’s not a competition (outside of this show haha), because each groups has something so unique to offer and we can appreciate and support all of them without having to shit on other people. And OMG what happened with Hyunjin!? He’s not in the rest!? And omg all I know of YG was when they were featured in the SKZ Survival Show! I really dug Ikon’s music + performance though!

Some content I just feel like I go into into totally blind and get lost very quickly 🙈 I have even more appreciation for them all after reading your comment! (Also, that's so weird about Ateez being popular in places...except Korea!? Is that usually a big problem for K-Pop like with The Boyz earlier on? 🤔) I loovvvved seeing them being besties with SKZ though- I am here for this Changbin and Wooyoung bromance!! And omg I was thinking that too though!! Like it’s amazing how much support Stray Kids have because of Stay, but that doesn’t seem like a very fair voting system for lesser-known groups. Unless they all had similar size fan-bases that’s a bit of a bummer :/ (I still think SKZ deserved first this round BUUUT haha that may just be my bias showing 😂) I will take it with a grain of salt and just be glad I am not watching it live LOL

2023-12-13 22:51:06 +0000 UTCOk, this is going to be a long comment but I wanted to leave it since you mentioned wanting to know when the other groups debuted and how many members there are so I am going to do my best to explain a little. I don't stan all of these groups so my knowledge might not be entirely accurate but I'm going to try lol. BTOB - they debuted in 2012 with 7 members, however there are now only 6 in the group. The reason you only see 4 in Kingdom is because 2 of the members (Hyunsik and Sungjae) were in the military during this time, they are all back now though! They are extremely famous/respected in Korea which is why everyone was kind of freaking out when they performed lol. Ikon - they debuted in 2015 with 7 members, however there are now only 6 in the group. They are also very famous/respected which is why everyone was freaking out watching them. Also! Bobby was not born in America, if I'm correct I believe he just lived there for a few years, I'm not entirely sure on that though. SF9 - they debuted in 2016 with 9 members, however there are now only 8 in the group as Rowoon (the member who couldn't perform because he was injured) left the group to focus on acting a few months ago. As far as I know, they are not as popular as most of the other groups in this show, they are not 'unknown' per se but they are definitely less known than most of the other groups. The Boyz - they debuted in 2017 with 12 members, however there are now only 11 in the group. So they are not the newest, or least known, I believe they were just the least popular in Korea at the time (I could be wrong, please correct me if I am) however, in the last few years they have been really gaining popularity. Ateez - they debuted in 2018 (not that long after SKZ) with 8 members, they still have 8 members, but the reason you will only see 7 in the show is because one member (Mingi) was on hiatus due to anxiety, he is now back though and doing better than ever! Ateez is sort of known as being extremely popular internationally but not in Korea, they have been working really hard to change this though. Most of Ateez and Stray Kids (especially Changbin and Wooyoung) are close friends so it's fun to see them interact like this. Okay, that was so long but I hope it helped a little bit! P.S. something that always bothered me about this show was the global votes aspect and how much it affected their rankings, because at the end of the day the people who rank higher were just the people who have more fans watching which didn't always seem fair to me. Overall, this show is really good there are just a few things like that that bother me lol. Watching this show live as it was airing was a lot of fun but also so stressful lol.

(Bang Chan is friends with Peneil and they hung out on his birthday.) Ikon comes from my used to be favorite company (YG) but I only know a few of their songs. A lot of groups from YG have the same laid back hip hop style.

They are hilarious, especially their leader Eunkwang. Their voices are to die for. Just to let you know there is no eliminations.

It's only natural 2 do so when ur new 2 kpop n u don't know anyone else 👍. I did the same thing n didn't understand why ppl got so butthurt abt reactors comparing groups. It's ridiculous 2 get upset abt that imo. Also don't worry abt learning the other groups names. It'll come naturally as u become attached or attracted 2 their personalities while watching Kingdom. I didn't know any of the other groups when I 1st watched Kingdom n now I know several members from the other groups just based on how much their personalities stood out 2 me. One thing I will note though is that if u spread the episodes out 2 far from one another you'll naturally 4get things n it'll take longer 2 learn names. But that's not really that important since technically ur watching 4 StrayKids (as I was as well the 1st time) so don't stress abt it 2 much. iKON, BTOB n SF9 are 3rd gen. StrayKids, The Boyz n ATEEZ are 4th gen. (Just answering ur questions as I watch, hope it makes sense w/out timestamps) 23:50 To answer Mal, usually when they're talking abt the youngest group it's referring 2 their debut date. Since actual individual ages can overlap or supercede eachother in different groups, 4 example ur birthday might be younger than someone in another group, but if u debuted before them then ur still considered senior 2 them simply by experience. It's kind of like having a teacher who is younger than u but has more experience in ur field of work. Hope that makes sense lol. 29:00 iKON was saying it's been a while since they performed n met fans since they're an older group. 30:43 TVXQ are 2nd gen idols. And no Mal...they don't look old...4 the love of God why don't these beautiful men ever age? It's so unfair 😫😭! 34:19 To answer Mal, it's not an elimination contest. They all compete until the end n whomever has the most accumulated points, wins. 45:25 So glad u went back n watched the other groups reactions 💜. Some ppl want 2 watch the whole thing w/out the other groups reactions which is understandable bcuz it's a bit repetitive but I think so much of the charm of the show is that u get 2 see the genuine shock, awe, admiration n support that each group gives one another which, in my opinion, is lacking in most competition shows. I love seeing them competing whole heartedly against eachother, but also cheering eachother on. It's just beautiful 2 witness healthy competition. 48:40 "I just want everyone 2 become best friends". Changbin (SKZ) n Wooyoung (ATEEZ) have been best friends since high school (in a later episode you'll see that they call eachother "lovey" n "dovey" 🥰. Bang Chan (SKZ) said Peniel (the beautiful bald man in BTOB) was the first person he met as a trainee n Peniel has been taking care of him ever since (fun fact...Peniel is from Chicago) . And the rest of SKZ n ATEEZ did become best or at least great friends during Kingdom. They also formed very close bonds w/ the other members of BTOB. (Just a personal rant... this is why I despise fanwars... idols are literally best friends w/ one another n would hate their fans shit-talking their friends just bcuz they're in a different group so why do fans think that's ok? That's like "loving" Bang Chan so much that you'd throw shade at his own sister Hannah after she released her album just bcuz u "love" Chan so much. How does that make any sense? If u actually "love" ur idols then u shouldn't hate their friends n family. Ok rant over 😤...sry it just really irks my nerves) 49:32 Mal says "They just want eachother 2 succeed". In this show I completely agree w/ u. They are so genuinely supportive of one another n it's what made me love this show above all others. However, in kpop they tend 2 grow up w/ one another through rigorous training n similar hardships n struggles so they tend to bond, similar 2 how I bonded w/ my fellow soldiers in the US Army. However in Asian culture itself as well as their business practices, it's quite competitive and very brutal tbh. Just as the US corporate system is quite brutal. Nepotism is in both of our cultures as well as power in being simply wealthy. The suicide rate is overwhelmingly high in Asian countries bcuz of competiveness and pressure to succeed. As the saying goes, the grass is always greener on the other side. I personally can't say that either of our cultures are better than one another. We all suffer from major shortfalls whether it's from communal group think or individualism. They both have pros n cons. 53:03 BTOB is the oldest group. I think iKON was chosen 2 go last due 2 a preliminary fan vote of who might win Kingdom but I'm not quite sure. That part of the show always confused me a bit. Anyway iKON chose ATEEZ, the youngest group 2 debut, n ATEEZ chose BTOB, the oldest group 2 debut. 1:22:00 I still can't get over the fact this is our ONLY Hyunjin moment in Kingdom 😭😭😭. F'ing bs rumor spreading haters I loathe u! Hyunjin would've SLAYED Kingdom! 1:22:29 "I love him, he's the biggest Changbin stan"... that's our beloved Wooyoung from ATEEZ n he IS the biggest Changbin stan bcuz he's his best friend from high school. Their friendship is hilarious n beautiful 😍. Changbin is my ult of all ults n Wooyoung is my ATEEZ bias 💖. I love those 2 cuties. 1:54:43 sry but it'll literally be this "suspenseful" practically every show lol. It's soooo annoying! Don't worry. No one gets eliminated lol. Whomever gets the most points at the end of the show wins.

I always appreciate reactors bcuz I know so much work is put in behind the scenes just to put out one 10 minute video, but I appreciate YOU even more because you put out lengthy edited videos with thorough analysis and on top of that have to deal with scheduling conflicts and complications as well.
