Newsletter #2 July <3

Howdy Y'all I hope this newsletter finds you well! Some fun stuff has been going on in my life so let's do a little round up, shall we?

Have you guys read the newest Flirts in Hawaiian Shirts Pages? Here's a link if you haven't! I'm so excited to finally be working on this comic again... I can't believe it took me 5 years to find the motivation and time to actually do it. Comics are just a lot of work, especially when you're not directly making money off of them, they're something you have to find time for inbetween the things that do ... Like, I'm no fool, I know most of my patrons are here for Bubbline content so I keep drawing it but I'm hoping someday soon I can start to shift into more personal work and personal comics like Flirts in Hawaiian shirts! I would also LOVE to work on a fun BL comic since FiHS is a slice of life/frienidship/girls love comic but I might for now just include some of my characters from my other comics as little cameos hehe... Keep your eyes peeled for some of my pretty boys!

WEE WOO WEE WOOO NEW TATTOO ALERT! I've wanted a throat tattoo for years, but I could never decide on what I wanted. Then I met my new tattoo artist and fell in love with her style. She also did the wiggle bops on my forearm from last month, so I was like YOU KNOW WHAT. I want you to freestyle a piece for me. And she did NOT disappoint. Her specialty is that like neo-tribal style and I've really obsessed with it. It reminds me of Metal Heart which is that like early 2000's spindly aesthetic that's really popular in Y2K related stuff. Anyways, I'm obsessed with it! Pain wise it wasn't bad at all, very tolerable, so much so that I would get more added to it in the future. The healing process was kinda a pain tho cuz I had to sleep really weird so my neck was jacked up the following days LOL. Oh well #worthit

Bubbline comics are in full swing! I'm trying to stay on track with updates but it's hard since I basically am working on 3 different comics all at the same time, not including my graphic novel which is currently in my editor's hands for revisions. I'll hopefully have that back soon so I can start working on the cover and then it's gonna go off to print! I'm currently working on the next chunk of pages for the Bubbline comic update but I've been kinda all over the place mentally the last month due to some medication mishaps so I might end up taking a hiatus for this upcoming week if I can't get the pages done in a way I'm happy with by Saturday but I don't know.

Prints are here! And ready to go in the shop! Be sure to use the 10% off code for my shop if you're a paying patron! You can find the code here (o: I'm so happy with how the prints came out! Always happy when my prints come out colour wise exactly how I envision them. I think only a handful of times have I gotten prints and I wasn't like 100% happy with how they came out but the print shop that I use always does a really nice job! I hope you guys were able to buy some or consider grabbing some!

I wanna work in investing more time into my online shop as we've entered the 2nd half of the year, but I'm just not sure what sorts of things I wanna add or work on. I've been focusing on prints right now, and some stickers since they're easy to make and less expensive to buy... buying pins is at the least a $200 expense. I've contemplated doing a little pyrex pin or drink girl pin but I don't really think they would sell and the last thing I need is a box of pins in my house when i'm trying to move...

SPEAKING of moving, move out date is set for Winter 2024! Because of some health concerns that I have for my cat Zita, my friend and I are kinda waiting to hear back about her and how she's doing and then once I get the thumbs up from her vet we'll solidify me moving! I'll probably be hosting a huge sale in my online shop closer to the move out date since I'll need to save up monteyyy but also get rid of this stuff. I'm debating on if I wanna sell my hand dyed yarns and some of my yarns from my stash but I'm a little stinky hoarder I kinda wanna keep it to myself...

Currently working on the "Flatten the Curve" crochet blanket for my mom! I'm trying to work on making gifts for people using up some of my yarns that I've been hoarding for too long, as a way to give a gift, make something for someone else and let go of some of my yarns that I don't think I'll ever find a use for. Yarns come and yarns go, but there will always be yarns... something aristotle said probably.

Oh and almost finished with this blanket! It's called the "Fireside Blanket" and it's a free pattern on ravelry! Great for using up scrap yarn and stash yarn (o: Might host some twitch streams doing some knitting and crochet soon but I've been kinda just enjoying working on the projects in bed listening to vaporwave or watching some CLASSIC ICONIC yaoi anime (junjou romantica lmfao) it feels like a piece of BL history very important art history anime LOL

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed reading! I know it's no as interesting as a like... blog post but I gotta try to sum up all of like 4-5 weeks which is hard! There won't be an art log post from the previous last few weeks since all I've worked on is comics and haven't posted much else. Hopefully I'll be able to work on some doodles and illustrations for the rest of July and definitely into August!

Have a great rest of the month y'all!

Thank you! I still have a few months before the big move but preparing for it in the meantime is slowly killing me 🫠
