Peppermint Eathbind

Good morning everyone, for your eyeballs today I have Peppermint tied up like the old magic card Earthbind by the late Quinton Hoover, if you type in MTG Eathbind in a search engine you can see the art for yourself (also a cute girl who reenacted the scene)

These days collecting is way more fun than actually playing, although I do still like the casual formats rather than going to tournaments... probably because I always lose, I have the worst luck even with the best decks =(

I gave up playing CCGs after spending waaaaay too much money and striking out in several local tournaments for not playing the FOTM-deck, so now i just collect the cards i like the artwork of... Oops! meant to post this as a reply... :3

Mystic X

I have not played in years. I noticed the theme getting darker and the art shifting, though. I must say, good art was a big feature for me. Otherwise, you just have cards with weird rules on them.

I love the yugioh cartoon and played some of the old school video games from it, but never got into th physical cards, I've played MTG since I was 13 and ya it's totally not the same

Sozokureed

True, it looks a bit too clean nowadays, i shifted my "Collecting cards for the art"-focus to Yu-gi-oh! lately, a lot of interesting artwork there (Not much bondage though :P ), MTG went a bit too grimdark for my taste in recent expansions...

Mystic X

Woops!! Well great minds think alike then, I wish the art would go back to stuff like this I mean less digital, especially with the return to Dominaria next year, how cool would that be? I mean the art now is done by super talented people but it's kinda boring compared to old school artists

Sozokureed

Spot on. But I always loved that pic. Had even pondered Prim in the pose, wearing cheesy wings like something from her Storödlan costuming department! Now Peppermint has stolen the show! xD

Wyland

Oh ya mine too, ya it's a shame I wanted him to sign my beta card, I loved the style very colored pencil looking, now cards are too digital looking for my liking

Sozokureed

Haha well the card itself was super weak and useless even back in the day... but it will always be my fav art

Sozokureed

I can see why ;) I love my beta one but always wanted a signed one... how his dig is worth so much poor guy.

Sozokureed

I think it would look nice too!

Sozokureed

One of my earliest "I love it for the art"-cards from "Magic: the gathering", i didn't know Quinton Hoover died though, i always liked the clean comicbook-style of his artwork...

Mystic X

Ah, man, half the reason to own a deck. Peppermint is awesome there!! If she was on the card, it would be a TAKE MY MONEY!!! moment for sure! :D

Wyland

That one was always a bit too popular. It got removed after Revised because of "art/name."

Wow! It would be great to see this one coloured
