You would pull on your welly boots just as the sun is rising, every day. You’d walk the quiet streets of Troika with your ladder slung over your shoulder, tapping on doors and asking “bag your owls, guv?”. With a coin you’d climb up your ladder and stuff your sacks with tired owls clogging the gutters and bowing the rafters, or with a dismissive wave you’d be on your way; plenty more where that came from.
