MEDIA INDIGENA 164
Added 2019-06-04 04:35:10 +0000 UTCON THIS WEEK'S INDIGENOUS ROUNDTABLE:
This episode, the first of a two-part look at the Final Report of Canada's National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. (Scroll down to learn how your questions can be part of the second episode with Kim and Candis.)
This week marks the official release of that report, just days after details of a leaked copy were circulated by the media. But did publishing that "unauthorized document" compromise the core messages of the report by exposing them to premature, pre-release trolling? More importantly, did it risk further traumatizing families and friends of the murdered and missing?
Joining host/producer Rick Harp to discuss these questions and more are Ken Williams, assistant professor with the University of Alberta’s department of drama, and Brock Pitawanakwat, Associate Professor of Indigenous Studies at York University.

P.S. Do you have questions about the final report's conclusions and calls for justice that you'd like Kim and Candis to respond to? Post them immediately below in the comments, and we'll do our best to include them in the show.
