"Will get this inked and coloured some time next week!" apparently means "in a little under 2 months. Not sure what happened, I tried to work on it but something about the dimensions was tripping me up.
Nai'envanna Tyraltin was a renowned bard, though she is currently in retirement, waiting for her only son to settle down and perhaps produce some legitimate grandchildren for her to dote upon (her one illegitimate grandchild is more than welcome to visit but they firmly reject their elven heritage... it probably doesn't help their neither her nor her son knew of their existence until well into adulthood - the Barbarian Chieftess who bore them felt no urgency to inform her several-nights-stand since it isn't unusual for their tribe to have absent parents due to death or wandering; due to this raising children is a group effort).
Nai'envanna is still considered quite a youthful beauty, even as she approaches her 650th year - she remains radiant and untouched by the silver-blue of typical elven aging (even then it is considered it's own kind of beautiful - a reminder that they are growing closer to the Deities that will welcome them one day).
Having outlived many of her human patrons, several Lords & Ladies and at least one Queen, Nai'envanna now lives a comfortably quiet, modest life in her home village, helping farm, forage and hunt as she did in her youth. Occasionally she will take on a pupil or two for a few seasons, sometimes she will spend a few years composing new tales and songs to share with her friends and neighbours. She is the first sought to entertain visitors to the village, and she is currently the favourite model of an up and coming halfling painter who moved her whole studio all the way across the kingdom to have the privilege and honor of immortalizing her onto canvas. Nai'envanna worries that the artist may have her on a bit of a pedestal, and tries to gently remind her that she is just a person like everyone else - she sneezes, bleeds and fills a chamber pot regularly. She's quite fond of her, and does enjoy her company - and perhaps if the hero-worshipping fades to a friendship between equals, there might even be romance on the horizon.
Nai'envanna is very patient, and if the heart-candle fades into disinterest, she will move on - if nothing else, perhaps she'll still have a friend.
Nai'envanna was married once, many centuries ago. They raised their son together, well and happy, and were a good family, but eventually grew apart pursuing new skills and experiences. The divorce was amiable - neither have remarried since, but both have reconnected on occasion, as well pursuing other lovers every few decades.
Like most elves, she has no real gender preference, though she prefers the longer lived races - it's always hard to lose a close friend or lover in what feels like just a handful of decades. She is strongly monogamous, making sure there is a clear-cut start and stop to her romantic relationships.
Her favourite season is Spring and she loves swimming in the streams near her home - even if the community has grown and she has to share it more often than not these days. She doesn't mind, as long as there's elbow room.
She is particularly fond of peach wine, and has recently started learning to draw portraits, with the help of her artistic admirer.
