TnA Tuesday: WIP - Tiffany's Still Getting It

Tiffany had been counting down the days until the weekend after her 18th  birthday to haul herself to an adult modelling shoot in rebellion of  her mother's regular assertion that she's fat, and therefore,  unattractive, pitiable and will have a hard time getting anywhere in  life.

Puberty was particularly rough because her growing curves made her stocky body seem even wider and lumpier, but thanks to her father's encouragement, assurances and counter-points to her mother's weight-related concerns, Tiffany has managed to accept her wide frame, and find self-value beyond the manufactured standards of acceptable beauty the media constantly pumps out.

Her upbringing still has her a little messed up over why anyone might try to give her romantic attention though, so she tends to be suspicious and apprehensive towards anyone showing interesting; are they trying to take advantage of an imagined low self esteem because she's 'big' or are they trying to trap her in a stupid "haha you thought someone liked you" prank... she's aware this is not a great mindset, but she's dealing with one issue at a time. She prefers to be assertive in her pursuit of relationships, friend or otherwise, and can over-react if she perceives secretive or avoidance behaviour.

A strong C-Average student with some proud B's scattered in, she is looking forward to going off to college as far away from her loving but flawed parents as possible to explore her options in beliefs, mindsets and careers. She wants to try to be some kind of spokesperson for body-positivity but isn't sure what best to Major in to attain that. Becoming some kind of model or performer seems to be one way, but journalism could be another way, and then there's also creating fiction where fat-jokes don't exist. Mean-spirited jokes in general, if possible, would be absent.

She has little opinion about her father's current best-friend; he seems nice, but this also isn't the first "best-friend" her father has had, but certainly one of the longest so far. Previous memorable 'best-friends' included (as described cluelessly by her mother): "That poor hefty regional manager lady who will probably be sad and unmarried forever, which is sad, she's so smart and funny" (now married), and "that nice carpenter spending extra time making sure the deck he's building is extra sturdy and properly built and likes it so much he checks it on weekends."

Tiffany is genuinely unsure whether her mother is truly that dense or is just saving face by playing it cool... but she doesn't want to potentially rock the boat by asking.

Ever since her mother lost interest in subjecting her to Beauty Pageants, Tiffany has been managing her mother's apiary. She will genuinely miss taking care of the bees and selling the honey while she's in college - she's been showing her dad the ropes and he's promised to take care of them and send her photo updates every week.

Bee-keeping and honey-selling aside, Tiffany regularly babysits, and helps out at a Daycare Center; fulfilling her desire to have a younger sibling (or 19) without the problem of them having to deal with her parents. She has memorised 20 different stories and nursery rhymes, dozens of tricks to distract or focus a toddler to nap or listen, almost all the baby sign-language and has developed a tolerance for bodily fluids most people her age can't even imagine.

The children generally love her brightly coloured hair; though some parents side-eye and whisper far too loud their approval to one and other, but the Caregivers and Teachers she aids don't get paid enough to care about what Janet Highcut has to say about the state of teenagers these days; they regard Tiffany as one of the most patient and perceptive part-timers they currently have and would keep her on full-time if they were able.

Contrary to her mother's belief, Tiffany doesn't not have a comfort food or binge-eat. If she's chewing on something (which equates to 'fat daughter must be upset and comfort eating again, I wish she'd find a different way to cope with her stress, maybe I can suggest jogging again), it's a Korean Cappuccino flavoured chewing-gum, which she just can't get enough of.

Tiffany earned the nickname 'TiTi' from her middle-school classmates when she was the first in her class to start developing... Leana is convinced it's actually 'Tiki', and calls her that some times.

Tiffany has decided to go by TiTi Tsuki for her nude modelling name.
