September's Shower

A patreon reward commission for last month, fresh off the press! (3rd one shouldn't be too much longer)

Always fun to revisit September and her world; I figure personal bathing-rooms aren't really too common a thing, but every neighbourhood has a bath and/or shower-house at the very least (more or less, and quality varying, depending on the general economical standing of said neighbourhoods).

In my mind the the showers at this facility dump a specific amount of water per pull of the chain. It doesn't always reliably supply warm water during the summer months (unless it's unusually cold for the season), but it's never uncomfortably cold. Once autumn starts approaching they're more mindful to make sure the water is warmed... it's probably some steam-boiler type system. As to where all the water comes from, I'm not sure, but if ancient Greece and Rome had this figured out, I'm not gunna worry too much about being called out on this not being 'realistically possible' in a medieval fantasy setting, and hope nobody notices a general lack of aqua ducts in outdoor shots.

Either way, I figure Sept chooses this place because it's close to where she lives and they keep the stalls clean and secure, and reasonably priced. She'll do basic washes with a basin and cloth at home and come in for a proper shower roughly once a week... so still cleaner than the average peasant in the real-world medieval times!

I tried to take into consideration the height of gnomes and halflings with the length of the chain-handle and lower soap-dish... anyone over 6' is going to have a rough time though. Some of the other stalls may be built taller, but I keep feeling this establishment was constructed and owned by dwarves who probably just averaged the ceiling heights.

I'm very tempted to reuse this background in the future... there's enough room that you COULD bring a friend...
