We made it to 100!

What can I say... just... wow!! 100 Patrons... I'm absolutely blow away that so many people can be so supportive. You're incredible. A massive thank you to each of you!!!

It's really hard work but I do love doing these videos - for so many reasons. I love the music... I love the process of learning... I love striving for excellence... I love helping others... and hearing your ideas and comments... but most of all I love having an excuse to play the instrument that has been my friend since I was 12. And that was a long time ago! Last week I had a birthday.... a big birthday with a zero on the end. Of course that meant treating myself to a new guitar. It's a Les Paul.... and it's a beauty... which you'll be seeing on some suitable videos very soon (Jeremy by Pearly Jam anyone? Or how about Black Dog by Led Zeppelin?). I've also got Killing In The Name Of ready to record...  complete with Whammy solo... and I'm working on Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2)... and The Bends by Radiohead.  So - lots of great content coming your way.

Thanks to your support I've been upgrading my set up... you'll have noticed the videos are now 4k thanks to a camera upgrade. And I've upgraded my lighting this week - it's amazing how important lighting is - and how hard it is to get right! More importantly you helped me get some wall mounts and battery packs so that this room is quicker to set up and doesn't look like a film set with cables and tripods everywhere. It's really helped - so thankyou!

I'm still working back on all of the earlier videos to tab them all. I still have about 50 to go... so you'll still see a mix of completely new videos with some old ones... but the hope is to have tab videos for everything I've done by the summer (if my wife doesn't kill me by then!)

I'm really excited for the the future - let me know what you want to hear... or what I should be doing to make the channel and website better. In the meantime - I've actually got a few days off work and no guitar for a few days... but the rest will only give me more ideas. So - rest assured I'll be back stronger!

Cheers - stay safe!

Sparky

Aroura Borealis by the meat puppets would be awesome

Hi Jonny - I watched a video on Age of Consent last night and Bernard is playing a late 70s wine red es335 like mine... so that means it has to go on the list! I’ll get to it eventually!

Thanks John! Glad you like the preview bar. It was something that was in the back of my mind but thought it might clutter the screen. Then someone put a comment on YouTube saying that his one criticism of guitar videos in general was that you couldn’t see what to play until it was too late. He was absolutely right...! I need to track down his comment and thank him.

Hi Jon - thanks! The Les Paul is a custom shop aged 1959 reissue from 2013. Feels nice and old!

Hi Craig... that’s one hell of a list! Hoping to do some more Stone Roses soon... Love Spreads if I can nail the slide guitar! I’ll have a look through this lot and see if anything jumps out. Gene and Verve have always been on my to do list... so maybe one of those will go on the list.

Age of consent from New Order would be absolutely terrific if you ever get the time. In the meantime I'm new here and have a plethora of 70s/80s to work my way through! Keep up the good work πŸ™‚πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘

Also meant to say I'm really liking the next bar preview you've added to the tab on screen videos, really helps
