2024-04-22 22:30:13 +0000 UTCI love how you respect Kaidan more because he doesn’t pity himself. Self-pity is what actually turns people off caring about, and respecting you. And yet you see that he suffers and that does engender sympathy and compassion and ultimately respect, but ironically it does so precisely because he doesn’t go around complaining about it himself. You feel sorry for people if they don’t feel sorry for themselves. I think self-pity should be avoided at all cost, whether you’re a man or a woman. It’s entirely unattractive either way. On the other hand, I agree with you 100% that society doesn’t give two shits about men’s problems and that whenever someone does show that they care, it means the world. So when you meet someone who does, someone who sees you as a person and notices when you suffer without you having to say anything, that’s when you know you found someone to really special.
