New Video: Transsexuals And Suffering | Mia Mulder
Added 2019-08-20 16:31:01 +0000 UTCOne "transsexual's" viewpoint on the origin of the term, why some people use it and why some people desperately cling to it in an attempt to exclude others.
This video was pretty hard to make for several reasons. I didn't want to make a statement anywhere that could be taken out of context to make it sound like I was somehow defending transmedicalists and transsexuals.
But at the same time I didn't want to make it seem like transsexual is something bad to call yourself, despite that being a pretty mainstream opinion in many, but certainly not all, trans communities.
So hopefully this gets my point across, after roughly 8 drafts before shooting and even more changes during and after. It's a bit long, but hopefully it'll work well as a companion piece with my even longer video "How To Pass As A Woman" that digs into similar fields.
Anyway, hope you like it. The premiere is the 21 August, 20.00 CEST
