Video: My Weirdest Digital Cameras

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHqiYQqclHk

I've been collecting digital cameras for years, and my usual criteria is "is this thing weird?" So far, I've collected a fair number of weird ones, but never really decided "hey, these are weird enough for a video" until these funky things came along.

This video might be the shortest I've ever made, kind of an experiment in quick production after a year of struggling with keeping every script from ballooning into hours of tedious explanation - though I know that's often what you want, it's not always what I want, and for this video I succeeded in sticking to just the things that intrigued me instead of saying every single thing I knew, neatly organized and illustrated as thoroughly as possible.

It didn't go as far as I hoped into the subjective. Maybe I'll figure out how to get closer to my ideal in 2023. Happy new year, assuming you're on the east coast or later.

Is that Toshiba a VGA camera? It sure looks like it. Funny, I think it might have the same serial port plug as TI-83 calculators had. Might even be the same protocol, I've never seen one of those cameras so I don't know. Gotta pick one up now. Will you ever do a video on one of those cameras that snaps onto the bottom of like a Palm IIIc? I always thought those were cool and for a long time I wanted one for the convenience but never got around to it. I think they were made by a couple companies, like Kodak. Should look at those cameras HP built into SD cards for use with Windows PocketPCs too. Do you think they made them for CompactFlash too? I know they made modems for CF. Either way, happy new years and always great to see a new video from you.
