So, I hate sketchup - it's extremely finicky with its tolerences, leading to a LOT of wasted time, but its relatively easy to use, and I'm using it to model a city. Work is slow, but oddly enough time passes really fast when I'm working with it.
The first iteration was scrapped after I put a lot of work into it, but it was a learning experience if sorts as it's been a while since I've used SketchUp, so I started from scratch.
I've got a a plan drawn out and am working on it block by block. The work is still pretty basic and in most places is just city blocks with no work, and I'm trying to incorporate some interesting structures - I'm a fan of multi-layered cities, with foot bridges, walkways and odd architecture and hope to get some of these things incorporated.
I hope to use this as a base to trace over to depict city life in a typical city of the empire
Here's some progress shots.
