Inner Sea poster map progress and other WIPs

Those of you who also follow my fb page (www.facebook.com/nathansmaps) might have seen something about this already, but I thought I'd go into more details with my patrons.

I was working on hte large poster map of the Inner Sea and wanted to make a flattened jpg copy so that i can refer to that quickly rather than risk giving my laptop a heart-attack and opening the HUGE .psd file.

I chose save as and changed the format to .jpg...

It was only after I closed the image that I realised that I had chosen save rather than save as, and with that, the original document was lost. No chance of recovery.

Luckily I have 3 differnet .psd files for that huge poster map: one base map, another with cartouches and flattened base and another with cartouches flattened with the base and labels as individual layers. The latter is the one that was flattened, so while I have other versions of the map, the one with labels is now flattened.

I will probably continue working on tjhis map, adding new labels to it, though it'll take a bit ot tinkering to get the font sizes, kerning and other details to match the original version. Nothing that can't be sorted, though it make more time that I was hoping to spend on it. For the sake of professionalism, i'll probably carry on, iusing the flattened file as a base and once its done i might go back and redo the flattened labels and revert to a previous version that has no labels on it, to clean it up, but all in good time.

On a not entirely unrealted note, I've been working on something new - a table showing distance, in miles between major cities (mostly capitals and large metropolises).

I've attached a PDF of this WIP. This will probably go into the Altas Elyden as a series of two-page spreads and I'll make a pretty version once I'm done and, of course, will share it here.

Let me know what you think :)
