POLAND PICS... SO FAR...
Added 2025-02-26 20:23:06 +0000 UTCGreetings from Po-Po. All was going so well... we shot some brilliant stuff today - even managed to get the drone working - and then we got the mother of all flat tires an hour's drive away from Wroclaw, where our hotel is.
Which led to the discovery that 1. Our rental car has no spare, and 2. The rental company - Flex To Go (no, me neither) - doesn't answer their 24hr technical assistance hotline. Thankfully, we managed to get the car to a petrol station, and through the miracle of Google Translate the staff helped us get in touch with a very nice mechanic.
He didn't have the right size of spare, but he sorted us out a hotel and is going to help us find one in the morning. Good luck with that, because the car Flex To Go "upgraded" us to is an obscure French thing that apparently only 0.48% (I checked) of drivers own in Poland.
Ready to come home, but it could be worse. The last time we rented a car in another country we nearly died. Still, early days. We're currently in the South West of the country... and we're meant to be going to the North East corner later this week. Wish us luck.

Ah what a nightmare re: the tire - glad that you are now back on the road and ok (hope that things go smoothly from now on!). Great photos - thanks for sharing them. Those snack bars made me laugh - not sure if they could away with that in the UK (although KFC did put out an advert saying "FCK" when they had the "great chicken shortage of... [checks notes] 2018"). All the best!
