BEEN A LOTTA BLOGS - ALSO: A REQUEST OR TWO

Morning all. Been a lot of blogs lately, eh. I’m either sorry or you’re welcome (delete as applicable). This is what happens when I get to the end of a big project – it’s like my brain unspools, and everything comes spilling out.

SO! Quick-ish one to update you on our plans.

We’ve booked our Po-Po jaunt at last. We’re going for 8 days at the end of this month/beginning of March – during which we’ll be filming at least two videos, possibly three depending on whether we can get access to one of the places we want to go. Trying to work that out today or tomorrow. The only link between the videos is that they’ll be in Poland – they’re all quite different from one another, but will be released under an “Expedition: Poland” series banner.

Because we’re us… it’s the usual stupidly ambitious schedule. I’ve managed to work some downtime into it - I am old and need to rest now - but there’s still a lot of driving. We fly into Warsaw, then drive South, before heading to the opposite corner in the far north of the country. Plus, a quick jaunt over the border into Lithuania.

Expect WW2 mysteries and Cold War intrigue, with it all linking back today - and a pair of idiots eating sausages and pierogis, and bumbling around extremely remote parts of a country neither have ever been to before. You know the recipe by now; we like the weird and the unusual - and that's just us!!!!?!!!

I’ve wanted to film overseas for ages, mainly because that clash of who we are and an entirely different culture is a recipe for big japes. I’m really looking forward to getting back to filming and arsing around.

This is the first batch we’ll have made since our life has felt a touch lighter – and you’ve seen how that benefitted DL2 (I mean, that last ep was dark AF, but you know what I mean). I’m eager to see how being more rested and up for the sillies, and having LOVED editing DL2, is going to impact the tone.

I want to get some interviews in there as well, as I think they really lift the production. If any of you know anyone who lives in Poland and might be up for a chat – please let us know. We’re also trying to find a military historian.

Before all that, we’re filming this weekend, and we’ll aim to do another UK video before the Poland ones drop. They’ll be a bit smaller and less full-on.

Oh! And we want to do a Patreon video soon – and we’re nearly out of questions from the last batch. If there’s anything you want to ask us – DL2, future plans, whatever – post the question below, and we’ll start working our way through them.

Right. Will leave you alone now.

We've just filmed a video where we address that very question, John. Should be up this afternoon. Thank you for hanging on, but will totally understand if you need to cancel your Patreon.

Can I be boring and ask is BYAMPOD is coming back? Or did I miss an update where it was taken out behind the barn and put out of its misery?

Hah! Tell that to my bones!

At last(!), a question (of sorts) from me (of course, I've had many before, but where to start...? :) )! Ok, maybe not a question, but if you could somehow talk through just "how" you made things such as the "Deactivation Protocols", that'd be brilliant. But of course I respect if you didn't want to reveal all your tricks, as such (in my rather paranoid and poor state, I know I would be hesitant to give all my tricks away at the moment... maybe if I ever "made it", it'd be a different story). So far, it seems like ChatGPT only works with text-based things - in a "severely lacking in inspiration" test, I asked it to draw me a picture of a dog, and it gave me some b*llocks (not the dog's) about only being able to give text-based answers, so not I'm sure how people are seemingly able to get it to do anything useful (like art), unless one needs an account for it.... I think maybe other AI tools are for art, but then again I can actually draw, so it seems a bit pointless "for now". But yeah, any info about your processes for creating things within Digi Level 2 would be really interesting, and for loads of us! Glad that you have a plan for Poland, and having some rest built in sounds like a plan! And you aren't old, ok?! :D
