KINNEL

Kinnell. I got walloped by a migraine during filming on Friday (you'll actually see the moment it hits during the video). Managed to carry on afterwards, but yesterday I was floored by the postdrome phase, and spent most of it in bed.

Thankfully, way better today (looking at you, Biffo's Brain and Writer's Club - see you tonight). The good news is - the video is pretty much done.

Sanja and I did a watch of the cut so far last night, and... suffice to say, this will have been worth the wait. I've got some tweaks to make today, balance the sound, and finish the finale, but it's almost there. It's the closest we've gotten to TV quality, but through our usual ramshackle filter.

I promise we won't take this long with every video - it has been exhausting and all-consuming - but you'll see soon why it has taken so long. It's absurdly ambitious, and comes to completely different conclusions to any other UFO/UAP videos I've seen. Plus: funnies.

I'm going to put together some sort of making-of, or at least explain the way I've done the animations, because I think there will be some people who cry "AI"... when it isn't quite that simple.

I instead tried to use it as one more tool of many to enhance collages I put together from stock images - to give them a subtle depth or animation. I'd do sketches in photoshop, and then feed that through. It was a real marathon of trial and error - experimenting with using AI as part of the workflow, without just doing what everyone else does - typing in a prompt and going "That'll do". I hate that AI look. There's stuff I've animated by hand, stuff I've manipulated in Photoshop - basically, you're not going to be able to spot the join I don't think.

I'm not an advocate of AI, more resigned to its existence and that I'm going to have to work with it in order to not get left behind - but I don't want to just surrender to it entirely. I'm determined to find ways for it to enhance my own creativity, and keep it feeling human. I think I've gotten close here to what I wanted. It's pretty unique. I hope you'll like it.

Stay tuned. It'll be with you soon.

The old comic book effects looked good in the final video.

Don't fear the Ai thing! It's just to keep you in your toes! Keep you ahead of the game, stretching your paradigms! If it ever surpasses humans... then... well.. we have bigger worries, 😆 🤣 😂 😹 (for transparency, this is Her old man... she's asleep and I wanted to comment .... you'll come to learn when i hijack the account 😆)
