MONDAY BLOG - UF-OH!

Happy Monday, gang.

So, filming was… challenging. The weather was just not playing ball – full-on blizzard on Friday, then trying to navigate the Peak District through more snow on Saturday, followed by Storm Bert on Sunday. Audio struggles in places, and some of it we’ll have to replace with voiceover – I’ve actually just bought some new mics with better noise reduction - but it’s still shaping up to be a special video. If nothing else, it LOOKS stunning. Oddly Christmassy, which is timely.

Also, the insane wind – and “NO DRONES” signs everywhere – meant we got precisely zero drone footage… but we did get one great sequence with it (and it wasn’t even flying at the time).

As I think I said, we’re going to have to film some extra linking footage this week, as there’s info we wanted to get across that you simply can’t hear.  But we have a plan for that! Just bear with us – this is going to take a little longer than we’d hoped, but it’s going to be worth it. In addition to our usual fannying around we’ve got exclusive UFO footage, testimonies from eyewitnesses, tonight I’m interviewing an astrophysicist, and we have the visit to the UFO archive.

The latter (which you can watch a clip of above) is going to be a highlight and I’ll post the whole head-spinning interview exclusively on Patreon once we’re done with the main video. It was such a bizarre afternoon, and not all of it I can share on here sadly – not least because a lot of the madder stuff happened off-camera. We came away feeling frustrated because of that – and his apparent refusal to repeat any of it once we’d started filming (or, indeed, ever answer any of our questions with a straight answer) – but having watched the footage back we got absolute gold.

We’ll likely do a Biffo’s Brain on Thursday where we’ll fill you in on at least some of the anecdotes. We have a lot of stories from this trip. Pencil it in.

We’ll record an Ask-Me-Do and Writer’s Club today or tomorrow, so you’ll at least have something from us this week, in the event we don’t manage to get the UFO vid to you until next week.

Lastly, sorry this month has been a tad light on content – the rigmarole of trying to get the sale of my mum’s place completed was a massive, time consuming, headache. It’s not entirely over yet, as I still need to clear the garage in the next couple of days – which has all the stuff from last year’s Digi Live still in it. But we’re getting there. Should all be done and dusted this week. We'll aim to make up for it in December.
