FFS... and UFOs... and a RFH (REQUEST FOR HELP)

The Rachel mentioned was indeed an actress, who popped up in EastEnders and a few other things. Weirdly, I later ended up working with her best friend, who was a producer. Small world.

Right. Moving on. 

We’ve spent most of this week working out the next video. I'll hopefully get the Jon Downes interview to you today - sorry I wasn't able to get it to you sooner.

We have a bunch of video ideas – literally dozens – but they didn’t feel right, all too dark and heavy, and we’re wanting to do something that’s more fun next time.

But we’ve landed on the subject – and we’re going to need your help to realise it.

Much as I love our Supernatural World videos, I always felt we never did UFOs justice. They were primarily tongue-in-cheek, but I’ve long wanted to cover the subject with the same sort of diligence, epic-ness and texture that we’ve applied to all our most recent vids. So… we’re going UFO hunting.

We’re filming part of it this weekend in the Peak District, then hopefully heading to Wales to film the rest. I’m also trying to get an interview with Nick Pope, who some of you may have heard of (the guy who used to run the British government’s X-Files), as well as some other folk.

But!

We would also like to hear from some eyewitnesses – so if any of you lot have ever seen a UFO we’d love to hear from you, preferably in the form of a video - no longer than 30 seconds - talking about your experience. You can message us at digitiser2000@gmail.com with your video. If you just want to record audio… that’s fine too.

We can’t promise we’ll use them in the main video, but even if we don’t we’ll put together a special Patreon presentation. Please keep it real – there’ll be enough nonsense elsewhere in the video.

The Big Cat video felt like we’d finally nailed the format we’ve been reaching for, and going forwards that’s our trajectory. It has the balance of everything we do best, from the humour to the research. And the scale – which is really important to me. I love big scenery, epic locations, and not rushing our filming. That does mean we can’t get a video out every week, but ideally we do want every video to feel like an event so that you get your money's worth. As always, Digi tries to punch above its weight!

This will likely be the last main channel video for a few weeks as we're next aiming to get Digi Level 2 done, so we want to leave you with a big one.

Also: Biffo's Brain folk. Chat tonight on Zoom, yes? 7.30pm. It'll be an interesting one, as Sanja's off doing a free sign language course for some reason, so it'll just be me. I'll try and find something juicy to talk about. I'll send you the link later.
