Happy Monday!

How was everyone’s weekend? We were in hibernation mode mostly. We did go for a walk around some sort of lake thing yesterday, but the weather was so dull and overcast it just sent us scurrying back beneath our duvet. 

We did finish watching Rings of Power. I'm no LotR purist, so unaware of the criticism it's got. I do always go and read up on the lore afterwards, mind. I see they've made some pretty major changes to the Tolkien canon. It must be so hard to write a show like that, set in such a time period though, given there are huge gaps in the story - and everything that happens spans hundreds, even thousands, of years. It's not a perfect show, but I love the epicness and the production design. We never managed to get into Game of Thrones though. The sex and nudity felt a bit gratuitous and off-putting, and when the reviews of that finale came in... well, that put me off entirely.

So, this week you’ll get the full Jon Downes interview, as a companion piece to the latest vid.

We’ve been discussing what the video after that will be. We both feel that with the US election happening this week, and with all the other things. there’s a lot of doom and gloom floating around. With that in mind, we’re temporarily parking the God’s Banker video – which is a teenier bit heavier – and trying to keep things light.

We’ve had a run of more serious videos, but I think people want, and need, an escape from everything for a while… and now that I seem to be out the other side of my own doom and gloom, I want to keep the lightness of the Big Cat video going for a while. Basically, we’re looking for another ridiculous adventure to go on.

So, that’s where we’re at with Digi. Digi Level 2 I’ve been writing scripts and doing animation stuff. That should all start to come together relatively quickly.

Also, I’m finally getting the urge again to restart BYAMPOD. You can thank The Cure for it – their new album is SO good it has made me want to talk about music again. Just need to find the time to record.

Oh! And in other news… I’ve finally got a bit of bona-fide TV work for the first time in aaaaages. It’s small – just a pilot script for a kids animation idea I helped to develop – but it’s working with people I know and like, so I’m enjoying it.

That’s it. Short update, but I’m sure there’ll be more to come later in the week. Oh! And Biffo’s Brain on Thursday, yes?
