Hello, gang. Here's an exclusive for you: a half-hour car chat, following our weird experiences hunting big cats (or were they hunting us!?). It's a bit of ramble. You know us. Does contain a comment about Emily Bronte that Sanja spent 48 hours laughing about.
Thank you to all of you who've watched the new Big Cat vid so far. We're very, very proud of it. It feels like we've kind of nailed the new format now, and found a way to seamlessly bring in elements of older Digi. Suffice to say, now that I'm more or less out of the miserable fog of this year, the characters and the funnies will be making more regular appearances...! We're bridging the new and the old, and I love that we're kind of impossible to categorise - completely our own thing. Informative while being utterly ridiculous. I mean, that list of exotic pets... that alone is worth the price of admission.
It would be great if you were able to spend a moment to leave a comment on the video itself, as it just helps push the video out if the YT algorithm sees there's engagement, and that's particularly important on the day it goes out to everyone.
I also want to thank Jon Downes for his time. Jon and I are old friends. We've not seen each other as much as I'd have liked in recent years, but he remains very dear to me. The full interview with Jon will be going up next week. He and the CFZ's zoological director Richard Freeman are Digi fans of old, and Jon's continued to be a supporter. I love him to bits.
He really added to the video, and I want to do more interviews with relevant people to the topics we cover - again, bringing in some of what we've done in the past into what we're doing now, and finding ways to mix it all together relatively seamlessly.
There are a few things I'd like to have changed in the vid; my sound when I'm wearing the poncho is frustratingly muffled, and I'd have liked some of the low-light footage to look better. That's something we can work on though. They're all a process of learning and improving. The next thing is to save up for a drone and some new lighting gear. I did almost buy one for this, but couldn't really afford it. We do actually have one, but the bugger won't switch on.
But anyway. Yes. Hands down, I think it's the best video we've ever made. Share it wide!
