MONDAY BLOG: CAT'S ENTERTAINMENT!

Happy Monday, y’all.

So. We’ve sort of teased something that happened to us over the weekend while we were filming, but… it was…

Well… let me save that for the minute.

Bottom line: we finished filming the big cat video. It’s going to be a whopper – it’s feature-length, and in some respects, we’ve never done a video with this many moving parts. It’s much more like an ep of Digi Level 2 in a way. Also, in terms of the sheer geographical span/distance covered, it’s also the biggest video we’ve done.

And yes: it features the full-on return of the characters. I am very happy with how they turned out, given it has been a while, but this was essentially my warm-up for finishing Digi Level 2, to see if I could still do them. I think that part of me is back, at last. Hurrah!

Integrating that sort of nonsense into this video in a way that feels kind of natural means I think they’ll be back more regularly from now on. It’s a great blend of new and old.

However! What the hell are we meant to do when something genuinely happens to us that we can’t explain?! That isn't meant to happen when filming something like this! But it did! Plus, with all the characters in there it completely undermines any effort we could ever make to sound believable?! This is the one time we would really, really want to be taken at face value, and we end up ruining our chances of ever being believed!

How very us.

But yeah. What happened wasn’t like the Peterborough ghost hunt, where we were jumpy and hyped up by the atmosphere, or (in my case) playing it up a bit. This occurred when we weren’t even looking or ready. I’m the boy that cried wolf! Or, in this instance… puma. I'm still struggling to make sense of it, and my brain is trying to explain it away as something other than what it very obviously was.

Now we’re just another statistic - more people nobody will ever believe! We visited my daughter afterwards, and she practically laughed in our faces when Sanja made me tell her. Her husband, who’s a police officer and grew up in the area on a farm, was more polite, but still pretty sceptical; he’s never seen anything remotely similar. He had heard stories – but was fairly dismissive of them...!

Anyhow, I'm hopeful the video will be with you tonight or tomorrow. I'm in two minds about uploading it as a premiere or not on Thursday. It's pretty long, so not sure if anyone would sit through it in one go, but it feels special enough to justify it. This is like a proper documentary!

We also have a car chat vid on the way for those who enjoy those - and probably some behind-the-scenes extended edits of things for the upper tiers.

Right. Better get this thing done.

Speak soon,

Paul

If your son in law grew up on a farm, then maybe he can arrange for you to slap a pig's bum? Really looking forward to watching the MEGA Digi episode.

The Amazing Cliff

I know. That's what worries me most!

I am in awe, but something like this could only really happen to you.
