CAT FLAP

How the hell do we convey what happened to us in a way that doesn’t sound like we’re making it up?
For research we watched multiple big cat documentaries, where the presenters go out looking for big cats. They’ve found what might be paw prints, but… OF COURSE it’d be us who are the ones who end up having some sort of actual first-hand encounter, in a video that was meant to be at least in part tongue-in-cheek and has a bean man running around.
Nobody’s going to believe us!!! Because OF COURSE it happened right before we started filming too.
GAH!!!
I’m meant to be the sceptical one, but there’s no denying it. It happened.
We’ll get the video to you asap – we still have to collect our trap camera tomorrow and see if there’s anything on it – but I need to figure out how we don’t just become another couple of eyewitnesses with bugger all recorded evidence.

2024-10-26 14:22:16 +0000 UTCAssuming this isn't a joke, I'm suddenly reminded of that one bit in the final (proper) Hitch-Hiker's Guide novel, with the bloke who gets abducted by aliens and manages to record everything that happens on a video camera. When he gets back home and plays back the footage, he realises it looks really fake and studio-made despite everything being real.
