WHO GOES WHERE?

Hola! Hope everyone’s alright. Thought I’d give you all an update on where we’re at, and tell you what we’ve been up to.
We met up with Paul and Eli yesterday to do some filming for Digi Live. It was also the first time all four of us were able to go through the script. We’ve got a full rehearsal next Friday, which will as much be for the tech side of things. And then the Friday after that… it all kicks off.
Now that the script is 95% done – there’ll be tweaks after the rehearsal – and most of the video clips are filmed and edited (we’ve got one big one, that’ll act as a sort of Friday pre-show, still to do at the weekend), it’s interesting to see how different it’ll be to the previous Digi Lives.
Friday especially is very different – some big chunks of it are entirely out of my hands for… reasons - but even Saturday is its own thing. If you include the very first Digifest, these will be our fourth and fifth live shows. We think we know now what works and what doesn’t. Plus, we know we can rely on our audience to bring the atmosphere. I can’t wait!
I will say that I sliiiiightly underestimated how much work it’d be doing different shows, right after a bunch of Digi Level 2 filming. It’s my own fault. Because I seem incapable of doing anything simply, the amount of work that has gone into the two nights has been insane, even by our standards. Script, props, costumes, videos, animation… it has been like doing an entire year of regular Digi videos in the space of two months. Early starts. Late nights. Amazingly, I’m not even knackered yet, because I’m too excited for people to see what we’ve put together.
It had to be like that really. Even if none of you show up… it’s celebrating 30 years of Digi, from its inception to the present day, and we only get to do this once.
That said, I’m really, really sorry – again – that we’ve not had more Patreon content for you while working on it, but I promise we’ll make it up to you, and you’ll get your money’s worth afterwards. That includes Biffo’s Brain, Writer’s Club, BYAMPOD, and everyone else. We’ll have loads of time on our hands again once we hit August, and – after we’ve celebrated its birthday with lots of you - we’re really looking forward to getting on with the next chapter of Digi’s life.
Right. Back to editing and writing (the joy of an ADHD brain: I’m never working on one thing at a time), then some green screen filming to do…
Paul

2023-07-15 17:10:27 +0000 UTCOn a separate note, can you make an AI Art video with Paul Gannon please? cos I've just showed him some on twitter and he reacted quite badly, I think it REALLY creeps him out. It would be funny if you subjected him to like 20mins of it, but scenes he'd like to see so he has to look at it. Probably Ghostbusters.
