Hello, gang. Not sure yet whether there'll be a Digi this week, as Sanja's a bit poorly. Without spelling it out (that's what BYAMPOD is for), she's had something up with her guts for a few weeks, and it isn't shifting. She keeps seeming to get better, and then goes downhill. We were due to record today, but she was up half the night, so I obviously don't expect her to want to be on camera today.
Likewise, this will also affect the possible Biffo's Brain Zoom on Thursday and next week's BYAMPOD, as both will depend on how she's feeling. I'll keep you posted.
There should, however, be a Writer's Club later today. It's recorded. It just needs finishing up.
In other news...
Digi Live Weekend ticket sales continue to be disappointing. The previous Digi Lives were pretty much sold out, so I'm guessing it's a combination of the current cost of living hell we're all going through, and the fact we've just overreached with the two day thing. I suspect by making it two days, that puts some people off from even booking just one of them.
We will continue to keep an eye on the ticket sales, and make a call in March as to whether the Friday is going ahead, or whether to cut our losses. Frankly, at the minute we won't break even on the Friday, let alone make a profit, so we just can't justify it. Given I know a lot of you have already booked hotels and travel for the Friday, we will try to find a way to still put on something for those who will already be in the area.
If you're intending to go to both, but haven't yet bought tickets, please don't wait much longer before booking, as we will need to know soon how much interest there is. Thank you.
MUSIC
I'm in the final stages of another album (always said with the caveat that I'm well aware most of you aren't here for my musical indulgences).
Yes: I did only release one at the end of last year, but I've decided to make that the first in a sort of linked series. Basically, I finished that last one, and just carried on making songs. Without intending it to be the case, the tracks were more upbeat and optimistic than Borders of Winter, and I pushed myself to make them much more song-y, rather than the sprawling atmospheric stuff I've done before.
Music has been the only reliable part of my creativity over the past few months. Whereas I've not always been able to rely on doing much else - writing, painting, recording, have sometimes been like pulling teeth - somehow putting on a pair of headphones and losing myself in music creation could always be relied upon.
While I would've normally waited before inflicting another one upon you, it feels like such a step up from what I've done before that I thought I'd do something uber-proggy, and release one for each season. Each album will, hopefully, have a different feeling. We've had winter, so this next one will be spring, and there's a track above that you can listen to.
