IMPORTANT CHANGE OF PLANS...

I've posted the message below in other Digi places, but I'm making sure you're all aware.

(And just to say, we would still like to do something special for Patrons over the weekend, but we want to make sure Friday is going ahead, as this will effect when and where it takes place).

Just to let you know, we're just under a quarter sold for the Friday night of the Digi Weekend. In some respects... that isn't too bad after only a month, but in other respects - on an instinctive level - it's clearly not selling at the same as the Saturday, and it remains well under our break-even point.

We don't want to have to cancel the Friday - though we're aware that upon first glance hotel prices seem to have skyrocketed, which is doubtless having an impact - so we're moving the start time to see if that encourages more people to come to both.

Ticket holders should be getting an email imminently from Harrow Arts informing you that the time has changed. With hindsight, 5pm was always too early for a Friday, so we're pushing the start time back to 6.30pm. It'll still be a slightly longer show than the Saturday.

Soon we'll be able to announce some of our plans for exactly what will be happening on each night.

To give a general idea...

The Friday was originally conceived as a sort of programme of events, starting with what will hopefully be a very funny look back at Digi's long and storied history as one section (hopefully with Mr Hairs and Violet, and a Digi The Show retrospective - with some of the cast of that series - joining us). Then Beanus is currently down to hosting a special live version of The Golden Bean as another section of the night (the conceit being that we'd span Digi's entire history from 1993 to the present).

And! Some other BIG surprises sprinkled in along the way.

Saturday is going to be a more based around the current YouTube Channel - with live versions of Great British Days out (yes: the coat will be there), Action Man vs Nature, Supernatural World, etc. - before erupting into a special futuristic 60th Anniversary Celebration.

Hopefully this gives you a bit more of an idea of the scope of what we want to do - we also have ideas for making the shows a little more interactive (for those who are willing participants only).

Anyway. That's it. Saturday selling well. Friday is slow, and we're keeping an eye on it, but we remain hopeful that we'll still be joining you for two full nights in July.

Thanks for the update, Paul. I already had the email from HAC and I was curious what was behind it. Fingers crossed that Friday ticket sales pick up

We'll have more deets at some point. It's usually a free event on the Saturday afternoon before the main show. There was a possibility they'd be running something on the Friday before the main show, but with the start time being moved back that may be revised. We'll keep you posted.

Moving to a later start time is probably a good tactic... also is there any more info on this Chunky Fringe thing? I tried googling it but all I got was stuff about hair.

If the worst happens, we’ll still try to do something for you lot on the Friday.

I'm hoping there's at least Something(TM) on the Friday, as my partner already took the Saturday afternoon for cricket and I'd like at least one afternoon of aimlessly wandering around Harrow with some Digi friends! (At least I'm close enough that I should be able to get there for the main show on Saturday and do the inevitable hang around in the car park afterward)
