I saw Crystal Skull twice on opening day. I think a lot of the hate it gets is undeserved. Is it the worst Indy film? Yeah, by far, but even a sub-par Indy film is better than 90% of modern action/adventure films. Performances are great, the story is solid, and it's really entertaining. I loved Cate Blanchett's villain, John Hurt, and the return of Marion. I even really liked Shia LaBeouf. I think the big mistakes were the over-use of CGI (particularly annoying after Spielberg claimed that it was being shot in an old school way), and the weak final act. They went too far with the aliens and UFO. It needed to be more implied and mysterious. The new Indy film apparently features a de-aged Harrison Ford in the opening sequence. Hopefully it won't be a CGI nightmare!
