SLIGHTLY EARLY ACCESS: BYAMPOD ep97 - MARILLION LOCATION TOUR

A very special episode this week, as we take a tour of all the key Marillion locations in their home town of Aylesbury - the day of their big homecoming gig. Discover where Fish wrote the words to Market Square Heroes and Misplaced Childhood, the site of their first ever gig, and all their old homes. Plus... we review the gig!

There's a bonus ep coming your way imminently, in which Sanja and I visit the Racket Club itself...

Luis was excellent at Sheffield, shaking, twisting, rubbing and ringing many different instruments. I was able to hear and appreciate his talent, think it helped watching him perform his art. Also lucky to hear When I meet God and Power 😀

Ivor Ellis

24 hour pod-a-thon!

Really enjoyable ep. I wondered if this was the longest BYAMPOD to date, but a quick check reveals it's narrowly beaten (by just 1min 7 seconds) by EP 16 - Fish's Solo Career. The 100th episode will have to be a 2 hour epic!

The percussion was good when it could be heard, but 80% of the time it couldn't be heard. Was a great set, although in an ideal world I'd take out The New Kings, even though its great, and have White Paper, Living in FEAR and another song just lift the tempo a bit.

Kester Roper

Hurrah!

Paul Rose (Mr Biffo)

That was hugely enjoyable, and took me back to meandering across various small Scottish towns hunting for locations from the Wicker Man with my mates.

Treacle Truffle

Aw that is a brilliant idea!

Sanja Rose

Is it wrong that, living in Aylesbury as I do, I'm going to save this till I've got a couple of hours and walk round the locations with you like it's some kind of bizarre museum audio guide?
