EARLY ACCESS: BYAMPOD Ep 93 - NEVER BEFORE HEARD MARILLION!

We're not kidding: in this episode you will hear Marillion music that most people have never heard before, dating from the Clutching At Straws writing sessions. Just when you thought you'd heard it all!

Also, we read a few letters about Somewhere Else, which kick off discussions about the power of music to connect with emotional moments, and whether or not Bono is a hypocrite. Coming imminently: a bonus episode!

Just got to the end. Sending a transatlantic hug to both of you. As they say, keep on keeping on.❤️

The guitar line at the beginning of the clip in the pod reminded my a bit of the intro to Bell in the Sea. Not sure why. Great ep, you two :)

Hi Pep. It should be in the show notes as promised, but here's a link regardless: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AMRTx5FDJs&t=5674s

Please Paul, put the link to the video of Call it a day as you said on the show

I loved Condorman too. Saw it at the local cinema when it came out, and wore out a VHS copy. Bit of an underrated gem. Weirdly, despite being a Disney film, I don't think it's available on Disney+.

It's true, I didn't mind Most Toys. Maybe because of the anti-hype leading up to me hearing it and expecting it to be little more than H shrieking a catalogue of his favourites childhood toys into the microphone, and maybe because I'm a dirty Rock and Metal lovin' boy. Nice work on the Muse edit!

OMG - Condorman was quite possibly the greatest movie *ever* (well - at least it seemed that way as as an 8 year old kid) - even saw it at the cinema! S'pose if i had my priorities right i'd have been traipsing 'round the countrys dive bars in pursuit of my favourite scottish heavy metal band ;-D

Could this be another lost Marillion song? Mark and H play a sort of keyboard duet and I think it’s rather catchy (and more memorable than the bit that ended up as part of Splintering Heart). https://youtu.be/QQ_aRsN2QmQ
