This interview on the other hand was exactly what I needed to hear going into my next month. I have Vidcon coming up with the panel I'm moderating and we've been covering some of the coolest albums dropping this year and years past. I want to spin the big artist wheel again soon because I know those have been beefing up too. But WOW, taking a trip inside Billie and Finny's world alongside some great commentary from Zane was exactly what I needed to LOCK-IN a focus up on my music reviewing skills. Hope y'all didn't mind my occasional chicken bite here and there. This interview was incredibly insightful into the process of how Finny and Billie created this album that's been cooking since she was 14 years old. I keep thinking about fear and farts and how that's going to work its way inside my commentary. I'd love to hear what you guys think about the next album! Is it gonna be this year? next year?? the sound?? seriously, nobody is doing it quite like Billie right now and I'm SO excited to see what the team cooks up next.

Wow man, this is crazy. I literally found his channel because of you, it’s ridiculous. If we as viewers can watch and enjoy both types of content (which honestly aren’t that different), why can’t he as a creator coexist? I really used to like his channel too but hearing his views on content and the way he approaches YT in general is just weird and off putting. YT is for fun and for people to have a space they can go to where people make them feel in community and to just feel a little better. it is not as serious as he is framing it to be and thats really messed up that he came at you like that. Yeah, the meat of the content is good (just like how you said a lot of the commentary is similar to this channel), which is why is gets views, but nobody really watches reactions/reviewers for tame responses. In other words, I (we) love your content because there is this relatablity and genuine energy. Troy, you give off this energy that you know what you’re talking about artistically. I know he’s a huge Zayn fan being that I also watch his videos as well. IMO - I want you to be 100% honest with reviews. I don’t care if you put on a bad review on my favourite artist because that’s more honest then pumping out lukewarm reactions. I felt the same way you felt towards both the Zayn and Taylor project. I've also stopped making music due to feeling disconnected & emotionally drained when I try to compensate alone. And while it is comforting to hear that I'm not the only one feeling dejected, what's even better is being able to come together in this community to celebrate music. These videos aren't a a solution, sure, but they really help me connect with others who love music in a way that isn't exhausting. For someone to discredit that joy, light & excitement by claiming to be "better" than that is sad. If I want a community that prioritizes quasi-pretentious musical analysis, I'll pop on theneedledrop or something lmao. Instead, you were authentic and voiced your actual opinion. As a Swiftie with critical thinking skills, that was still very entertaining to watch and respectful to TS as an artist. I don't think The Diner is the first song to do that. When Zane said "trying to look older than you are" he was referring to her look during the Happier Than Ever album cycle. When they said the song was in the middle, I believe they were specifically talking about it being in the middle of the tracklist of the album. I highly recommend reacting to her other interviews like this. She has an older one with David Letterman where they show the computer and let you see I guess, logic pro? if they were using that then. in a more recent one she goes in depth on What Was I Made For? and they also show isolated stuff from the computer so you can hear the background sounds. great insight 💙

I’m a huge Taylor swift fan (since fearless) and it’s a little eye rolly to me when people are constantly fake gasping at her songs for like EVERY song. I watch it and all I think is like “ok relax it’s not that intense”. I’ve loved her music bc it means something to me and I enjoy seeing your genuine joy when you find songs from her that mean something to you. But that only happens bc you share your thoughts and critiques when it doesn’t hit for you. It’s like a cake and eat it too situation where some people just want positive / yes men comments all the time. There are plenty of great creators that are nice about all artists out there. I come to your channel bc it’s genuine and professional thoughts and I’m sure that’s why many people come back to your channel.

I unsubbed from mb (not that I’ve watched him I’m ages anyway) don’t like the vibes - it’s annoying to see people in your own community try to tear you down or start issues.
