ALL THE HOT THINGS COMING THIS WEEK...

Hello, you lot.

This week... providing we don't all spontaneously burst into flames over the next two days... will be a busy one.

Currently, I'm editing this week's Digi which should be with you tomorrow. They seem to keep getting more complicated and involved, but it's working for us. This week we're looking into re-branding (not really, but y'know).

BYAMPOD will be with you before Friday, and it'll be the final part of Somewhere Else (barring the letters - which our friend Anthony has agreed to join us for).

We're also definitely getting you a Writer's Club podcast, and Biffo's Brain will be happening on Thursday evening, with the second part of our look at Found Footage.

I've also got a bunch of meetings... today I've got one with a certain friend of the channel about possibly working with him on something. Tomorrow I'm interviewing Marillion's first keyboard player (technically... Silmarillion's first keyboard player) for BYAMPOD. Wednesday I've a meeting about a possible TV project, and then we're meeting up with our friend Jake, who helped us out at the Digi Level 2 filming, about a potential something.

And then my daughter is getting married on Saturday, and I still have to write my speech.

We're also hoping that we might be able to book Digi Live 2023, with a view to the tickets going on sale next month.

Atop all that... because you're all so bloody lovely... I've got commissions to work on! Below is a list showing the jobs I've been commissioned for already. As you can see... lots of different things, and I'm excited about all of them. If there's anything you want me to do - you all know what I can do better than anyone - drop me a line, and make me an offer. I've no idea what the market rate is for any of this these days, so I'm as in the dark as you are, but as I've said to everyone... I'll tailor the work accordingly.

Obviously, I've now got a bit of a production pipeline to work through, but will work through all of this in the coming weeks. Oh yeah, and I'm pretty good at writing scripts and pitches if that's anything you need.

So... thank you all again. So much. And to all of you who upped their Patreon, or paid for a year, or sent us anything on Ko-Fi. We were very very emotional all weekend, and our gratitude is off the scale.

The immediate crisis is averted for this month or so at least, now we just have to work on a mid-to-long-term solution.

Sanja and I are obviously talking a lot about next steps. I'm feeling very, very disillusioned with the TV industry right now (though not slamming the door entirely). And, if I'm honest, can't really seem to get a look-in from the games industry either; I need experience working on some smaller games before they'll even consider me.

But one thing you've all made abundantly clear is that you, our audience, is our greatest asset. We've both been looking at proper jobs, but for now at least it seems ridiculous to pursue becoming - to name one thing I was looking at - a Tesco driver, or for Sanja to become a doctor's receptionist (not that there's anything wrong with doing either of those things) - when we've got so much experience of producing and making things that people enjoy.

You've supported us when others have turned their back, and we need to think what that means going forwards.

It's scary, it requires a degree of mental readjustment to accept I can't rely on the types of income I've been relying on for 20 years, but it's also exciting as we're batting around everything from bringing the Digitiser/Digitiser2000 website back... to doing Twitch.

We'll keep you posted. We owe you that much, you brilliant lot.

Wow, a very busy week indeed (and what a finale, on the Saturday - all the best for that (and everything else, too)!)! Hope you can keep cool despite all of this. While I guess I've had busier days, it has felt a bit relentless today as I finally eat something... sigh, business as usual and all that BS, ahem, I mean business! Looking forward to the BBC ( :) ) on Thursday, but I think we'd all understand if plans need to change.

Fingers crossed there are some open doors on horizon. We always have your back mate but I know its not enough to run a house on etc

BeasBotBonanza

I hope things are ok for you and sanja its tough for a lot of folk just now but you are lucky to have each other and your daughter's wedding will be lovely.

Stephen Campbell

Nice one, hopefully you two can get fully back on your feet in no time

Lewis Taylor

Good stuff, Biffster! I'm glad you're feeling more positive about things.

Kelvin Green

Woot to hearing the website might be resurrected :)

John Veness

Liking the typo there, β€œIllustrions” sounds like an alien race from a 50s b-movie πŸ˜„

Really glad to hear stuff is, if not looking up, is at least not nose-diving as much as before, really hope it all helps you guys get out of this rough patch, it can't be easy at all πŸ™

StormyRange

I'm historically a podcaster but ruddy love twitch. The live interaction, I have my stream deck ready with silly stuff, play some games and best of all...NO EDITING πŸ’₯ Once you're a affiliate you'll get some trickles of money from twitch as well. I got a random Β£100 from them last week. Hope you both have a lovely weekend (please don't melt)

The Amazing Cliff

Genuinely already tried that...

Paul Rose (Mr Biffo)

Have you considered AI-ing the speech?
