I'VE DELETED THIS MORNING'S POST
Added 2021-07-24 18:15:34 +0000 UTCIf you came looking for the post on Digi Live that went up this morning, I've deleted it. We're in an impossible situation, frankly, and whatever we do will feel like the wrong thing. Hence the post.
If we cancel... we're liable to refund everyone. We'd go bankrupt. Literally.
If we postpone... people who have already booked travel and hotels will lose money, and let down people who'd been looking forward to this for over a year.
If we go ahead... we risk spreading Covid.
Whichever way we turn we're screwed, but we've spent months looking at every possible solution, we've considered everything, and after essentially a year of deliberation we've concluded that the best of a bad choice of this crappy set of options is to go ahead in as safe a manner as we can make it.
The comments weren't proving helpful, they weren't telling us anything we're not already acutely aware of, and they weren't exactly making this whole thing any easier for us.
For those of you who are coming, we'll do whatever we can to make you feel safe and entertained. For those of you who aren't, I totally understand.
It would seem I'm unable to turn off comments on posts, so please try to refrain from offering advice or urging caution, or even offering your kindness, on this one. Whatever you might think in the moment, rest assured it has already been considered by us over the course of the past 18 months.

2021-07-25 08:59:46 +0000 UTCDear everyone. You're intelligent people. Take personal responsibility for your lives. Wash your hands. Wear the mask indoors. Avoid contact where you want to. I highly doubt an event like digitiser live is full of a boorish mob of jeering nimbathroids. Succumbing to panic and fear is the worst thing you can do. We'll be living with COVID for the foreseeable future, but like Spanish flu and every other flu before it, it will become background noise as time passes and human bodies adapt. I know it's horrible to reminded of your mortality and how unsafe life is, when you live in one of the safest and nicest countries on the planet (whatever you think of it, the grass isn't all that green outside of the westernised nations. Try calling your leader nasty names in many other places on th planet!). Just relax. Look after yourself and others...and wash those hands. Try avoiding scratching your nose and eyes etc unless you sanitise too. Digi is probably going to be fun. I've got nobody to go with and fear dragging a friend along who might be "WTF is this? I mean.... WTF!?" π€£

It's a show that's designed to be experienced live, so if the end result isn't up to the quality we want... it'll remain forever hidden...! We'll make a call after the event.
