Added 2021-07-11 10:22:55 +0000 UTCThere's a select few of you who enjoy it when I share bits of music I've been working on, so this is for you lot.
As is usual, this was mostly a test, again trying to get a decent virtual guitar sound out of Logic, just using plugins, and no real instruments. This is the closest I've gotten so far, I think, to a song that sounds sort of guitar-based. As always... it comes with the caveat that I'm not a musician.
Hey - some of you remarked on how much you liked the soundtrack of the latest Digitiser ep. Obviously, the excellent Chris Jerden-Cooke wrote some of it, but I also provided a big chunk this time, including the new Supernatural World theme. So, that was rather gratifying.

Liked that! Had a bit of British Sea Power to it, but was also distinctly Biffo!

2021-07-14 12:10:05 +0000 UTCPM'd a little feedback about this, just opinions and idle thoughts tho. Obviously, its all subjective, and just in case any of it helps :) Track sounds great.
2021-07-13 17:30:10 +0000 UTCSome are just individual tracks. Only the most recent one is the one I'd consider a proper album.

2021-07-13 06:31:51 +0000 UTCThis is the irony with me - I bought an Ample Sound pack, which does do really good guitar sounds, but like you I love synthy guitars, so I end up messing around with them to get them sounding how I like!

2021-07-12 20:55:20 +0000 UTCWhat synth are you using to make the guitars? Because tbh it does sound quite synthy but I like it because I like synthy sounds. Meanwhile to my ear Slayer 2 sounds quite convincingly like a real guitar even though some people say it's cheesy, but it's not my favourite because usually I'd prefer something synthy π.

2021-07-12 20:53:49 +0000 UTCSounds great. Pretty convincing guitar sounds. I've never used Logic as I'm not an Apple user, but I understand it has some really excellent guitar amp modelling plugins and virtual instruments. I always used to be impressed with the guitar-like lead synth sound Jan Hammer was able to achieve. I think he used to route a physical synth (played using a keytar) through actual guitar amps and distortion pedals.
