THE FIRST SONG I EVER WROTE... WHICH WAS THIS WEEK
Added 2020-07-17 12:45:29 +0000 UTCHello you lot. Well, my musical journey continues. I'm determined to actually compose songs if I ever do another album, and rely less on the loops and samples. I thought you'd enjoy getting in at the ground zero.
This is the result of a LOT of trial and error, but it's the first piece of music I've written that sounds kind of how I wanted. I was aiming for a Kate Bush sort of vibe with it. It's still a bit tentative and ropey in places, and needs work. And I only played the first version of it on the keyboard, and then went in and fixed it in Garageband - so this isn't exactly me playing 'live' as it were. But anyway, here's a very early demo that'll probably become something. I'm learning as I go...
Currently, I'm editing next week's video with Gannon, which will hopefully be up for you lot later today. It's very silly.

Thanks, John. Never knew you played piano! Now I feel awfully embarrassed showing off my amateur tinkling...

2020-07-17 13:59:21 +0000 UTCNice! I actually had to sign up for Bandcamp yesterday to get the two Covid 19 albums by The Tiger Lillies(recommended highly) so I picked up the preorder for your debut as well. Looking forward to you dressing like a giant flower like Genesis era Peter Gabriel.

2020-07-17 13:49:36 +0000 UTCThat's good for your first attempt, Paul; well done and good luck with the future composing. I have played piano for almost 28 years now and I always think that, of all the instruments, it allows easy experimenting but so much scope for mastery. There are some nice thematic ideas in this piece and for what my opinion is worth, please follow them wherever they lead.
