LIFE UPDATE!
Added 2018-06-21 07:30:04 +0000 UTCHello, Patrons!
How's it all going? Alright?
So, here's a thing, as you know Digitiser The Show is going to be having a live show at some point. I'm not sure when yet - we want to record the series first, as I think it's sensible not to do everything at once.
I really, really appreciate you all sticking with Patron, even though many of you also backed the Kickstarter. Some of you may even have backed the Kickstarter to get tickets to the live show... but some of you didn't.
We're going to look into the possibility of offering extra tickets to the live show for Patrons - for free. It'd be good to get a sense of how many of you might want this (and whether you'd bring a plus-one), as it'll help us plan whether this is feasible and affordable. I think it's the least I can do to say thank you. I think it's most likely going to be at the end of the year, most likely NW London-ish. So, post a comment below if you're interested, in theory.
I'm also going to make the behind-the-scenes Kickstarter videos available to you all. There are a couple of back Q&A vids already up, but I'm going to re-edit them, as the sound and picture was a bit iffy (I put them up very quickly, see). I'll give you the link when they're online.
I'm really, really excited about Digitiser The Show. Already it feels like the pieces are falling into place better than expected, and though the budget is being squeezed, and I've had to pull back on some of the big location stunts, everything that's happened so far feels very authentically Digitiser-y. There were so many parts to orchestrate, and so many unknowns, I honestly didn't know whether it was going to work, but... I really think it could be something quite special.
So, that's that... what else is going on for me? I'm close now to finishing the huge day job projects I've been working on since late last year. I'm hoping to take some time off in August to have a short holiday (after I've popped up at the London Play Expo), and start editing Digitiser The Show (we have another block of filming penciled in for September).
Unusually, I'm in a position where I've got work lined up for next year already. This rarely happens in TV - or any freelance industry - and while I wouldn't exactly say my finances are fully recovered from last year's battering, it makes life a little easier knowing that I'll hopefully be able to pay the bills in 2019.
Other news! I'm on a diet. Yeah, I know. Who isn't? Skip this bit if you find this sort of talk boring. I've actually been on an eat-less-food diet for months, but my age, coupled to my sedentary lifestyle and job, meant that it wasn't making a difference.
Sanya had been extolling the virtues of a keto diet - high fat, moderate protein, loads of salad, low carb - for a while, and when I saw the results of it with a few colleagues, I thought I'd give it a go.
It's early days... but man... it really seems to be working. I mean, the weight (admittedly mostly water weight at this stage) is really dropping off, but the weird thing is that I'm never hungry, I'm less tired, and my brain feels generally more alert. Plus I get to eat bacon, steak and cheeeeese. It's quite a thing, and now that I'm rapidly heading for 50, I need something like this which is going to ignore my slowing metabolism, and just digest the fat. I only wish I'd done it before my wedding photos.
Right. That's it for now. Thanks, as ever, for supporting me. It's because of you that I'm able to keep the Digi updates daily, even in the face of an overwhelming workload. Comment below if you're provisionally interested in coming to the live show.

2018-07-01 19:55:49 +0000 UTCOddly, enough... it had crossed my mind that if I do lose a decent amount of weight by the next block of filming in September, then yes - continuity is going to be all over the place. That said, I've potentially got a holiday between now and then, and the main reason I'm dieting right now is so I can stuff my face when I'm away. So it might be fine. Anyway. I'm not looking to lose loads; just what I've put on in the last couple of years of domestic contentment. I don't want to be slim... just need to create a firebreak so that my weight doesn't spiral out of all control.

2018-06-22 06:52:23 +0000 UTCInterested, in theory - but the fact that I don't know anyone IRL that likes Digi as much as I do (or at least, they all pretend to not know what it is when I wear the t-shirt) means my chance of attending is slim and my chance of +1 is pretty much nil.

2018-06-21 23:23:55 +0000 UTCI'm definitely interested in coming to the live shows, but then I backed the KS too, so I guess I'm coming anyway and YOU CAN'T STOP ME. I'm also on a diet, funnily enough, but mine just involves not eating rubbish, basically. It's working out well, but yours is going to play havoc with the digi continuity. One scene you'll be your old, slightly rotund self, and in the next you'll be some sort of Usian Bolt character!

2018-06-21 20:45:05 +0000 UTCNot one of them that crowbars in the fact they live abroad, but crowbarring in that I'm in NZ and so if this was at some kind of 'right time' then I would love to come with my plus one.....the girl you might remember I made a reaction video to Scranton K.....also, I feel awkward bringing up such guff but once I said I reckon I could dj at some event with my sweet collection of mainly 'older' stuff.....'what ya sayin', like?!?'.....and you told me to remind you if something did happen, so.....there you go! Lots of information for you to process there, with some phenomenal crow-barring.

2018-06-21 20:28:57 +0000 UTCOoohh! Svelte Biffo. I’m attempting that 800cal Dr Mosley (GP not fascist) diet. 6kg down in the last week. Missing the alcohol, but it would be nice not to look like two people fighting in the same shirt. Already backed the live show Kickstarter tier so don’t worry about me. I would be interested in throwing some money at any leftover Will Overton prints.

2018-06-21 10:24:54 +0000 UTCYeah, KS only allows you to pick one reward which is annoying. I believe what you *could* have done is to change your pledge so you have a particular reward picked but manually type in a larger amount of money, enough to cover the other reward, and drop the KS creator a note. You would have to check with the KS creator first, though, as it would be extra work for them keeping records of who should get what. The only other way I know of, which would probably be easier for the KS creator but more work for the backer, would be to create a separate KS account and back the other reward separately. I'm not sure if you would be able to use the same credit card on both. Grids!

2018-06-21 09:28:32 +0000 UTCI'm potentially interested in this, depending on work commitments. I did try to get a ticket during the Kickstarter, but I'd already backed at the "face" level and couldn't find a way of doing both due to being quite, quite stupid.

2018-06-21 09:14:55 +0000 UTCKetogenic diet, John. I love carbs too, but I'm finding ways around it. I made a sandwich yesterday, where I used cheese slices instead of bread! Look it up! I was sceptical, but then so many people - middle aged blokes mainly - I knew had done it with amazing results.

2018-06-21 08:23:44 +0000 UTCI'm already planning to come cos I backed the KS... but tell me about this diet, as I could do with one! Problem is that I love my carbs...

2018-06-21 08:14:37 +0000 UTCYou are *rocking* that new name!

2018-06-21 08:12:41 +0000 UTCMe too! I'd love to bring a plus one if possible but no biggie - this is super good of you as it is :)
