I IS MARRIED NOW
Added 2018-06-11 12:32:41 +0000 UTCHello, gang. So, last time we spoke I wasn't married. Now I am! You'll be very proud that one of the readings I had during the ceremony was courtesy of my best man Anthony - aka DJ Trendy Peanut. I got him to read an extract from Winnie The Pooh, just so he had to say phase "There's always Pooh and me". Which got the expected laugh, due to mu puerile family and friends.
What I've found odd is I'd expected to be utterly exhausted this side of the wedding, but last week I was rather energised. As well as all the preparations, I'd had the in-laws staying for 10 days... but it meant I couldn't get much work done. Just having a different daily routine, it seems, was enough to give me a bit of a rest, and last week I got a lot done.
Obviously, now I'm into the thick of preparations for Digitiser The Show, and very excited for it all. I admit I'm slightly anxious - I had a dream the other night that I'd been cast in a small role in a US sitcom, and had neglected to learn my lines. So much of Digitiser The Show is unscripted (deliberately), and that's sort of weighing on me. No matter how much I prepare for it, having not done this before I can't help but feel unprepared.
There are a lot of unknowns... but slightly winging it is also going to be the thing which makes the show real and exciting (hopefully). I'm very keen for it to feel authentic and spontaneous, and capture the sort of stream-of-consciousness way I've always written Digi. I've had to think hard about how I can 'control' the flow of show while also being in it. We're filming the episodes out of sequence, due to guest availability, so that's slightly adding to the pressure, and meaning I have to juggle a lot in my head in terms of continuity.
But anyway. As I say - I'm excited. I think you're going to love it. If you backed me on Kickstarter, I might even have some video to share with you after this weekend.
Right. That's enough of a ramble. Now off to script some brand new Insincere Dave...
