VLOGGING A DEAD HORSE

Hello, lovely Patrons. After a year-and-a-bit of near constant Digi2000, I'm actually daring to take my first proper holiday in a few years, over Easter. You might not even notice I'm gone - I'll hopefully keep the site stocked with stuff while I'm away, as usual... but it might be a bit less topical, obviously. As I've mentioned elsewhere, I want to run a letters page while I'm away - like Digi used to do - so if you want to see old school reveal-ohs... please send us some emails at digitiser2000@gmail.com

Anyhow, I'm hopefully going to be doing some cool-ish stuff while I'm away, and was considering sort of "vlogging" at least some of my trip and posting it up on here. Is that something you'd be interested in seeing, providing I have the time to do it? Please let me know. Though I appreciate how dull it can be to watch videos/photos of other people's holidays, so no worries if you don't.

I appreciate that I've stopped doing video updates, as most of you seemed only slightly interested... and, frankly, I was running out of things to say, and want to at least offer intermittent additional value.

Also, please don't hate me for going away! I can't really afford it, but we had the opportunity for our first child-free break in living memory, and decided we had to make the most of it.

In other news... one other thing I'm hopefully going to get organised when I return is the long-mooted Digi live event. After quite a bit of deliberation, I've finally hit upon a Digitiser panel game format - basically, Have I Got News/Shooting Stars-esque. My plan would be to get games journos and/or creators involved to be on the teams, and we'd put tickets on sale before the summer, for an Autumn event somewhere in London, at the weekend. It would, inevitably, feature a lot of Digi-style stupidness, and might even climax with the destruction of an Amiga live on stage.

Feedback on this idea is much appreciated.

Anyhow... that is all. Thanks again as always for supporting Digi2000. You'll be pleased to hear that over the last month and a half our hits have increased noticeably. Last year it was up and down all the time, but it has been steady and healthy for a while now, and seems to be growing. That's down to the fact that I've been able to keep it going consistently - and that's all thanks to you lot. You're the best. And I mean that.

Oi!

Andy Simcock

A Digi panel show thing would be awesome, I'd buy all the tickets.

Cheers, Euph. There'll be some stuff on Digi while I'm gone. I won't abandon you all entirely...

Enjoy the time away, you really don't have to worry too much about capturing footage of you dressed up like Toad from Mario fighting a cobra in a Thai snake-wrestling pit. Although we appreciate the thought.

Noted, Jordan!

Paul Rose (Mr Biffo)

Cheers, Keith. All of that makes me very happy indeed.

Thank you, feller. I shall endeavour to do enjoy myself. As for Digi quiz... I may end up just using audience members for the panel thing. Though my worry there is getting drunks up on stage!

Paul Rose (Mr Biffo)

Dude. Fret not! Have a holiday, post some pictures of your favourite rocks when you get back or something. The panel show thing sounds amazing, would love to go. Would love to be on the panel, but I'm not famous enough to be worthwhile so won't mind if you choose Jon Hare or someone else instead of me.

Oops, pressed enter pre-emptively. Was going to add that while "added value" stuff is always welcome, I reckon all of us patrons know that you have a balancing act going on with the day job, and personally speaking, (as you said about other crowdfunding ventures) I'm happy to pay for the privilege of supporting digi to keep going; seeing an updated digi (more regularly than promised, at that) is more than enough - only do the other stuff if you have the time or inclination, we're grateful you're doing it already, so the arrangement already works. Cheers, will deffo come to a London event

Keith Williams

Ello there. I would also be interested in attending the show.

Keith Williams

Would be very keen to attend said show
