Progress Update - Refactoring Early Chapters

Hey everyone!

As I mentioned before, I’m currently refactoring the early chapters with the new layout. It’s a lot of work, but honestly I think it’s worth it.

I’ve already finished Chapter 0 + 1 and added a few extras:

• NightActivities now lets you visit people multiple times and repeat their scenes (as long as you still have action points). Does it make sense? Nope! Is it fun? I think so :D

• Scenes with Mariel, Serin, and Seryk are now tracked with special values.

  • Did you smell Mariel’s feet?

  • Did you smell them both nights? (Yes, it changes the text!)

  • Did you smell Serin’s socks?

  • Did you train with Seryk? Did you… well, you get the idea.
    Everything is saved and remembered!

I’m honestly amazed how well this new system works. Once it’s fully in place, it’s going to take away so much work from me in the long run.

When I said on the first release the system tracks hundreds of variables, I wasn’t kidding. And it might even end up tracking faaar more in the future. Basically, the system now automatically sets variables for every choice you make. That way if I ever add something later, I don’t have to think: “Wait, did the MC pick chocolate ice cream or vanilla back then?” The system already knows.

It should also be less bug-prone overall. The only downside is that a small formatting issue can break a whole passage. But honestly, I prefer that over the old HTML-style bugs where it’s like: “Oh well… who cares, keep going.”

Anyway, I won’t bore you more with the coding details.

👉 Below is the pre-patch for Chapter 0–1.
There may be some bugs again since this wasn’t just a simple overhaul but a full rewrite.

I’ll be uploading a pre-build every day with my progress until the refactor is complete.

PS: Let me know what you think about the background colors. Personally, I feel like Serin and Mariel might be a bit too strong right now.
