Amnok Corvette Audio Lecture

The Amnok-class corvette is one of North Korea’s most modern surface combatants, first revealed in 2023. It represents a significant departure from the older Soviet-era designs that dominate the Korean People’s Navy (KPN), adopting a more modern, stealth-influenced profile with angled surfaces and integrated sensor masts. The class appears designed for multi-role coastal defense, focusing on anti-surface and limited anti-air warfare, with secondary capabilities against submarines.

You mentioned that the pendulum has swung back towards torpedo's versus countermeasures these days. I have a really dumb question as a civilian: why don't we see more prevelant use of countercharges from RBUs or depth charge throwers? Take an old-school depth charge launcher that can rotate and launch a set of charges in rapid succession. Throw a set down the bearing of an incoming torpedo, if they detonate anywhere in the neighborhood of the torpedo it's probably going to defeat the weapon. I imagine it blinds sonar until the bubbles clear, but that works both ways, and surface ships have more ears in the form of helos and buoys.
