I'm still getting the hang of this whole Patreon thing, so bear with me. I'm going to get some tiers and advance chapters set up, but in the meantime I figured I'd do an introduction post.
I started writing five or six years ago as a hobby. You know how they say "Writer's write"? Usually people who say that mean "If you want to be a writer, then you have to actually write something instead of just talking about writing all day." But I read it the other way. I realized one day that I do write, all the time, and it's usually pointless stuff. What if I actually tried to write something good? What if I wrote a novel?
I did write a novel, called Cheaters Prosper and you can't read it because it's not that good. But while I was writing that novel, I was in an excellent writers group who really tore me to pieces week after week and built me up into something respectable. Then I wrote "In Another World, I must defeat the Demon King" which is very good, and which you can read on Amazon. There are three in the series, with more on the way.
After book three I decided to start something new, just to give people a new entry-point into my writing, and to have something I can release on RoyalRoad, a website that I've been addicted to for several years.
For that project, I had three main goals. 1) It must be easy to write - I want to write quickly and get a lot of words out to my fans. 2) It must be fun to write - This is a lot like goal #1, if I'm having fun then it'll be easy. 3) It must be something people want to read - This ties in to goal #2 because if no one's reading it, then it's not as much fun.
Bog Standard Isekai is that project, and so far it's accomplished all three goals. I love this story and I think that comes across in the writing.
