Spring 2019 Game Jam Results

Last week, the second ever AOTK spanking game jam finished up with 4 submissions! "Detective Madison "Mischief" Malone and a Dish Best Served Cold" by aka, "Life Lessons" by kandor994, "Bad Fairy" by Shadolink, and "Demo type thing." by SnarkFu. All of our submissions this jam were interesting takes on the theme of "You Are The Villain", so let's get started!

Honorable Mention 1: Bad Fairy

While Shadolink's "Bad Fairy" was quite rough and required that I compile it from my own RPG Maker editor in order to run it, the idea of the game is quite interesting. You play as an invisible fairy tasked with getting as many people in trouble with your mischief as possible. It's a cool concept that with some polish and tutorials, could be a really neat game.

Honorable Mention 2:  Detective Madison "Mischief" Malone and a Dish Best Served Cold 

aka's "DMMMaaDBSC" takes on the style of a classic analog gamebook such as Robin Pearce's "Manor of the Master". The prose is quite good, if a little on the purple side, with some very fun descriptions of the spankings therein. The idea of playing a pen and paper style game is very interesting and I hope to see more of it in the future.

Honorable Mention 3: Demo type thing.

While more of a spanking simulator than a game, SnarkFu's "Demo type thing." is entertaining, with some nice sound effects and animation. I hope that SnarkFu considers continuing work on this project, as I'd love to see a larger game built around this system.

Spring 2019 Game Jam Winner: Life Lessons

kandor994's "Life Lessons" surprised me. A new creator, who put their idea to a game engine and ended up with a delightful little experience that had me wanting more. "Life Lessons" is the story of a girl whose sister gets nothing but praise and attention, while she herself gets the titular "Life Lessons" over mom's lap. The goal of the game is to sabotage your sister in any way possible to try to get your mom to punish her instead of you. It's a pretty simple concept, but the way that it was executed is what I liked the most about it. There are many ways to get sis spanked, but some of them are less effective than others, with mom often finding out that something was fishy and bringing her wrath down upon you instead. While it's a little bit unpolished now and could use a little more player signalling, there's a lot of promise here, enough to make it this Jam's winner. Great job kandor994!
