FFG-22 came to Boston in I think 1997 while I was a senior in HS. My friends and I got to go on board her and walk around with a sailor. Ex USS Fahrion was transferred to Egypt shortly after that. The sailor was awesome for taking time with us. I wish I knew then how cool that actually was. FFG should have been replaced with Fast Frigates and NOT LCS (Legit Can't Shoot) garbage. LCS can also be Large Cash Sinkhole.

Great ship brief sir. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work! :)

The large antennas aft over the hangar are not EWS, they're HF transmit whips. SLQ-32 uses the kind of hexagonal boxes either side of the bridge top, fwd on the superstructure.

How about doing a brief on the "dead admiral class" destroyers?

Jive, that was a great brief for something outside your niche. That’s how you expand viewership. Briefing something from your point of view as a submariner. Would loves to see something on the Spruance-classes since they’re decommed. Burke’s would be great, but afraid to have too much info put out since they are the mainstay right now.

The CF6 (civilian version of the TF-39) doesn't only power the DC-10, but also the 747, 767, MD-11, A300, A310, and the A330. The CF6-6 powered the DC-10-10, and the CF6-50 powered the DC-10-30, early A300s, along with the early 747s. The later CF6-80 powered everything else listed earlier..

Odd looking at this and comparing it to Drachinifel's WW2 videos and realising just how much modern ships rely on not getting hit whereas the old ships we designed to just soaked up damage.

I believe that "Reforger" stands for Return of Forces - Germany.

“Lube oil” cracked me up :-)

Great video of my favorite FFG!

The 8 second reload of SM1 missiles are irellevant as the SM1 needs constant illumination so only one missile can be in the air at any one time. The SM2 has an autopilot and only needs terminal illumination but almost no Perry's can fire that one

Great video, thanks! :)
